Ninety pounds soaking wet and she can fill your car with killer bees: INDEXING episode #2 is live!

It's here! It's here! The second episode of Indexing is now live!

Demi Santos had a pretty good life before the ATI Management Bureau came along and shattered everything she thought she knew about reality. Now, in "Musical Patchwork," our newest team member must adjust to a world in which fairy tales are real...and she's one of them.

This post serves as both your reminder and discussion thread.

Once upon a time...

Squeeee! :-)
Yay!
Very shiny! I love the characters so far and their interactions, and the setting is all sorts of fun. I love the premise. Also, since this is a discussion thread, I just have to say that a viral, airborne Sleeping Beauty plague is so very you - in a good way. :)
Aw, thanks. :)
Ooh, I really like the idea that they can't use computers because the story might change. Bringing the idea in that part of the ATI's job is to control the spread of variants is amazing. It's almost like the fairy tales are a virus and the ATI is a weird, fantastical version of the CDC. That, or I've been reading Newsflesh too much recently.

"...there are at least three agencies dedicated to dealing with things that most people don't believe exist." So, the X-Files, Fringe Division, and the ATI?

WHAT, THE INCURSIONS ARE CAMOUFLAGING THEMSELVES AS LESS-DANGEROUS INDEX TYPES? THAT IS SERIOUSLY MESSED UP.

I am LOVING this so far...I guess I will have to fill the next two weeks with catching up on more of my Hugo reading.
Hooray, Hugo reading!

And yeah: this is very much of the "memes are thought viruses, and strong enough memes can warp reality" school of thought.
Yeah, seconded. Stories in disguise = hooooooly shit.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You Evil Evil Wonderful Evil woman. You're trying to kill me with waiting!
Yup.
Eeeeeeeeeeee! Saw the message that it was on my Kindle while out and about. My Kindle is wireless-only, no 3G, so I said "hope it downloaded while I was still at home!"

Opened it up and sure enough it had. I proceeded to read it while strolling through the garden center picking up seedlings and a container. Glee!

Extra glee because Ms. Santos has no reason to know me, let alone be irritated at me, because I think an irritated Pied Piper would be a *bad thing*....
Yeah, pissing Demi off is...dangerous.
Oh man, I really loved this and how they all are-- Demi is reacting how any normal person would react and I love the idea that the stories themselves are being devious and tricky. XD
I'm so glad!
Dammit, i read too fast
It is the sad weakness of this form.
And, entirely apropos of the new chapter, this was in my rss feed this morning: You may be a Disney Princess.
Actual best.
I would love to read Indexing but in the Amazon page it says that it is not available for purchasing. Is this because I am in Europe?
All your questions are answered here: http://seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com/512186.html
I just got caught up, reading both extant parts in one fell swoop, and I am adoring this.

Yay!
I'm waiting for the print version, whereupon I shall gleefully glomp All The Things.
Good plan.
