MIDNIGHT BLUE-LIGHT SPECIAL open thread!

To celebrate the release of Midnight Blue-Light Special, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book. Judging by the comments I'm seeing, you've had time.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.

Seriously. If anyone comments here at all, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. So please don't read and then yell at me because you encountered spoilers. You were warned. (I will not reply to every comment; I call partial comment amnesty. But I may well join some of the discussion, or answer questions or whatnot.) I will be DELETING all comments containing spoilers which have been left on other posts. No one gets to spoil people here without a label.

You can also start a discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

Have fun, and try not to bleed on the carpet.

This book is WIN. I preordered the Kindle and got it when it arrived, but didn't have time to read until yesterday. And I proceeded to not eat and not sleep until I finished it later that night (morning). I loved Discount Armageddon, and I loved this one too. And thank you for featuring a manananggal right at the start, it just made me really, really happy. ("THAT'S OUR CRYTPID RIGHT THERE OMG YAY GO MANANANGGAL!" which is safe to say as long as there is no actual manananggal in the area.)

I've always loved the Dominic/Verity interaction, and I'm such a sucker for Dominic hero types, so I just love love love them. Part of me is sad we won't be seeing much of them in the later books (I assume, since I read above the next ones are in Alex's POV) but it will make encountering them in cameos and short stories even better; and I'm keen to hear about Alex and the other Healy-Price folks.

SARAH, OH SARAH. I don't know how to be more coherent about her, she is absolutely amazing. I loved it that in the end, it was Verity who was able to understand the feelings Sarah was projecting. It's just right. Sarah is badass and geeky and I love her for that.

Also Istas. And Ryan. And the Aeslin mice, the Aeslin mice are AMAZING. I'm sad the current Head Priest seems almost about ready to retire, but his last "audience" was dignified and amazing and just perfect.

There are too many feelingsthoughtsandemotionsin my head it is hard to put them down into words, but AMAZING BOOK. Really, really fabulous book. I loved it. So much.
See, this is why I put the manananggal in the book, even though I dread what the audio book reader will do to it. :)
Haha, now I'm really curious! The Audible sample didn't reach that scene; maybe I'll go and get it when I have one too many credits needing to get offloaded :D

I know of at least one person who picked up the book after I told them there was a manananggal in the book ;) So yay! \o/
