Let's have some ECLIPSES in the house!

On July 2nd, I started the preliminary end-to-end dissection and revisions on Late Eclipses of the Sun, aka, 'Toby Daye, book four,' aka, 'the first book I don't actually have a contract for yet.' (Because that's ever once stopped me.) Now, almost four months later, I'm ready to toss the 'dear sweet gods above, below, sideways, and in the Menswear Department, it's FINALLY DONE' current draft into the pit of wolverines that is my initial readers.

The current book stats:

Pages, 417.
Words, 115,310.
Chapters, thirty-six.
Cans of DDP, beyond counting.

There's still going to be some rather severe correction ahead, and this book needs at least another month of work before my agent gets to see it (because otherwise, she will beat me with my own keyboard, and I don't like that game), but this is closer to the country of 'done' than we've ever been with this particular manuscript. And now I can finally start prodding at The Brightest Fell, aka, 'Toby Daye, book five,' aka, 'Seanan, honey, can we please wait for Rosemary and Rue to come out before you finish the second set of three?'

In conclusion...

...DINO DANCE PARTY!

That is bloody brilliant. Three cheers for you!
Thank you! This book was like pulling teeth.
Congratulations! But won't sadness result if some significant change to Books 1, 2, or 3 results in having to redo 4 through 8?

But let's not think of sad things. Let us think of happy things, like action figures fleeing for their lives!.
Actually, amusingly, that's what started this whole fire drill. (I had one through four totally written, I made serious changes to one, I looked at the series, I said some bad words.) While rewriting is difficult, it's better than not having the writing to re!

I have those. :) In fact, Mary, the woman I'm staying with in Alabama, sent them to me.
Congrats! And here is a dancing Dino for your Dancing Dino Party!

Everything is better with a dancing dino tag!
Yay! Awesome and congrats! :D
Thanks! Glee.
You have a dino dance party tag.

I love you, sweetie.
And I love you!

It's essential to keep track of one's dino dance parties.
Yes, I know this isn't your filk login, but congrats on the Pegasus!
Thanks! We'll have a post to explain that here in a little bit (as in, 'what does all of this mean').
dear sweet gods above, below, sideways, and in the Menswear Department

*snrk*

Congrats on the progress!
Thanks!
Three cheers and a dino dance party for you!

[And thanks for continuing to inspire me to work on my own writing. I can already see I'll never catch up ;), esp at the rate I write, but reading your reports on your projects and progress always reminds me that maybe it doesn't have to be perfect the first time through -- it just has to *be*. Then it can be improved, if necessary, but the key point is to get to something to improve upon. First things first. :)]
See, I don't really see it as 'catching up.' Alida Van Gorres wrote one book, ever, that I can find, and that one book is so amazing that I can totally say 'yeah, that's worth her having written three or four that weren't as good.' Quality, not quantity.

And you are totally welcome.
