Twenty-five days to MIDNIGHT BLUE-LIGHT SPECIAL.

There are twenty-five days remaining before the release of Midnight Blue-Light Special, the second book in the InCryptid series. I am...I'm still not quite sure that I believe it, honestly. This is such a difficult series to explain to people, because it's so silly and so serious at the same time, and I'm still a little bit in awe of the fact that I'm allowed to write it.

Thank you, thank you, to everyone who's taken a chance on this series. Thank you for looking at my pink, pink cover and my silly, silly cover blurb, and going "Sure, this is worth my time and/or dollars." Thank you for reading and reviewing and spreading the word. I honestly couldn't be here without you.

Thank you also to my agent, and to everyone at DAW Books, because let's face it, I can be a little odd sometimes, and when an author who's doing pretty well with a dark urban fantasy series says "I wanna write something with talking mice," you'd be forgiven for being a little, well, hesitant. But they didn't hesitate. They said "Seanan has done good things with strange concepts before, and they let me have my weird little world full of cryptids and blood feuds and secrets.

There are not enough thanks in the world for what I'm feeling right now.

Thank you all.

Broke as hell right now (vet bills) but I'm saving my nickels to pick this up the first week.
That is the sweetest thing ever.
Thank you for writing it, InCryptid is, after Discount Armageddon proved to be every bit as awesome as I always thought it would, my absolute favourite Urban Fantasy series. It is as I said in my review of the book what I always wanted Urban Fantasy to be, and no one ever quite got it right before.

Thank you.

Yay!
The paperback is available for preorder at B&N, but not yet the Nook version; I’m sure you’ll blog about the book again as the release date approaches, which will remind me to check and preorder it when it becomes available. But because I looked, I did find Velveteen vs. the Junior Super-Patriots available for Nook! Woohoo!
Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. Sorry.
I am looking forward to it!
I really enjoyed the mix of light and dark in the first book.
Did you see that Megan Phelps has left the Westboro Baptist Church? I am bringing it up because I was reminded of your Q&A about the Covenant's blind spot when I read the article about her 'defection'. The same 'there is only one truth', and otherwise intelligent people who are so scarily sure of their truth is the only one out there. All evidence to the contrary is just not seen. Well, ms. Phelps saw that there are multiple ways of looking at the world in a library and the shell cracked. Yay, libraries!

Anyways, I will be buying the new Incryptid book when it comes out. I promise ;-).
I did see that, and it's fascinating.
Pre-ordered last week. So looking forward to this one.
Hooray!
Thank you for writing such a fun, yet serious book. It was refreshing. I'd given up on urban fantasy after one too many stories that were way too dark for my tastes. It was nice to find one that wasn't.

Discount Armageddon is also my kitten's favorite book, apparently. Every other book I've read for the past several months I've had to read around her batting at it and biting it and otherwise trying to convince me that I should be paying attention to her instead. However she laid down in my arms while I read it and looked like she was reading it too!
That is adorable and I am delighted.
Cannot cannot canNOT wait, sweetheart. :D
Hooray!
Happy for you!
And for me, because I get to read it!
Works for me!

You know, I feel that it can be viewed either way, although it remains one of my favorite covers. I just hope people will see the second cover and give the first book a second chance.
Okay, now I know absolutely that I need to be out of hospital by then so I can go buy it and read it (I'm being treated for depression and anxiety). Last time I was in inpatient my goal was to be out for my birthday. This time it's CHEESE AND CAKE.
CHEESE AND CAKE!

Be well. I worry.

Seanan...you don't get it. For the people who've read Feed or Ashes of Honor, who've followed Vel and Jackie and learned aobut Marionette and Roadkill (who still needs a hug), who have wanted to pull the trigger with Shaun on the Senator...we're not "Taking a chance" on the series.

It's money well spent on a sure thing.
...you are the best.
so excited! I just read Discount Armageddon over the weekend.
Hooray!
Awesome sauce!
