That was so beautiful, thank you. I like Jackie more now, meeting so many other versions of her helped me understand her more. And I am so happy that Tad gets to be Sleeping Handsome - and I loved the way the Princess tells Vel to figure out her feelings for ActionDude before she tries to be the kiss of true love that wakes Sleeping Handsome up. But my heart is breaking for poor Roadkill and Marionette. Their lives are so hard, I wonder if it s more bitter than sweet to know that there are other versions of themselves out there in the multiverse that are having an easier (though still hard) time f it. And finally, I would kill for a flower bed. Especially if it was warm and soft...
...and didn't set off my allergies :-)

I just started reading the Velveteen vs. stories last week. They'd been on my list for a while, and I figured that reading a story or two at a time would occupy some of the downtime at work where I didn't have a book. And then I was immediately grabbed by the story, and spent all my free time over the next two days reading everything posted!

I think it's obvious that I absolutely love pretty much everything about it, even more so since the overarching plot kicked into overdrive! I like how the seriousness of the plot, with real and actual danger and threat can still be balanced with light-heartedness, without either one feeling out of place.

This particular installment was heart-wrenching.

And let me tell you, the scene with Marionette and Jacqueline Claus was amazingly creepy. I got literal goosebumps, which is rare for me!
I'm so glad. :)

Haven't finished reading yet, but wanted to say that this sentence made me giggle:

Entering the Crystal Glitter Unicorn Cloud Castle was like walking into an explosion of fairy tale cliches, each one more sparkly and encrusted with gemstones than the last.
I think it was the name of the castle that got me.

Wow. I really hadn't figured out Marionette before now. That's...frightening. Psychic-vampire-not-Vel kind of frightening. I never want to be in a 'verse she's in. Ever.

Oh. Oh. Oh oh oh oh.
Ohhhhh...

“We were supposed to have so much time. What happened to all our time?”

I cried. I cried.
Oh, Vel. Oh, Tag. Oh, Jackie...

Seanan, you magnificent bastard.

Why do I suspect a Xanatos Gambit around the corner, somewhere, somehow?
Poor Tag.
Seanan - reading about an alternate universe character that you'll never hear of again isn't supposed to hurt like that. And I suspect hugging Roadkill would actually, literally, take a year off your life expectancy.

But it would still be worth it.
She does need a hug, it's true.
Roadkill and Marionette are awesomely fucked up. I'm totally stealing Marionette and Jacqueline Claus to use as NPCs in a superhero RPG campaign :-)
Awesome!
Crying now. You make me love them so very much.
Thank you.
Since I've started having nightmares about Marketing, I thought it was time I told you how wonderful I think these stories are. They're exhausting to read, but I'm always happy to see a new one. This one had me in tears. Velma is my favorite of all your heroines, and I love her supporting cast, too. (It's always great to see women being friends.)

Thanks for writing!

(Also, I made this on Polyvore, if you're interested.)
That is an AWESOME Polyvore set. So cool!

You are very welcome.
I hadn't thought of the glass coffin. Hooray for potential loopholes!
Hooray!
Also, I have to say, I cannot stop thinking about this sentence:

"It was like a heavy rain falling on a dry lake: even though there was room for all the water, it was too much to bear."

It is just so... beautiful. In so many ways, in and out of context. Just... I mean... it makes me cry when I think of it in context. Out of context, it is pure poetry.

It honestly makes me think of my favorite Stephen King book, Firestarter ... with Charlie's immense capacity for power just flowing and flowing. Like that scene where she literally burns away a full pond. And the power pouring into her constantly, and how she is completely able to take it all in. Vel kind of scares me just as much as Charlie McGee scares me.
That makes me very happy, as a comparison.
I've also just recently come to this universe and caught up. Sorry if this has been discussed before, but do we know if Majesty is male or female? The character seemed ambiguous so far.
Nice twist with the combination Cinderella/Snow White presentation.
Majesty was male.
*has tears in eyes*
*hugs*
That was really, really good.

You made me weep all the weeps. Thank you.
You are very welcome, and thank you.
