Sick even unto death.

I have been talking about this a lot on Twitter, to the point that I figured everyone knew, but apparently, I was wrong. So:

I am sick. Like really, really sick. Like "missing a week of work, barely getting out of bed, too exhausted to deal with anything" sick. I caught the flu. And yes, I got my flu shot. It's not a magic bullet; it just increases resistance and sometimes decreases the severity of the flu itself. Well, if that's the case, I'm damn glad I got it, because I think I'd be dead now without it.

This is a bad, bad flu season. Take care of yourselves. And please, please, don't pressure me for fast responses to anything. I am too sick to die, and you may have to wait longer than usual for an answer.

Get lots of rest, and take care of yourself. We all want you around for a long time to come (to feed our voracious reading appetites *grin*).

But seriously, influenza is a bitch. Take good care, and get to a hospital if you don't start to improve. This is nothing to mess around with.

Hm, it's starting to sound like they chose the wrong Flu Vaccine this year (you watched this season of Biggest Influenza, right? It's the show where various flu viruses attempt to prove which one of them is going to be the next big thing for the coming year. The flu viruses have to compete against each other and of course they all have to prove their dangerous, but not dangerous enough to win, because winning means everyone gets vaccinated from it).

Get better!

*hugs* Sounds like you got one of the strains they weren't immunising for this year (they have to predict before flu season starts which strains to do, given that producing the vaccination takes ages). But getting the shot should be reducing the amount of death flu you're catching. *hugs* Look after yourself clever lady.
