Sick even unto death.

I have been talking about this a lot on Twitter, to the point that I figured everyone knew, but apparently, I was wrong. So:

I am sick. Like really, really sick. Like "missing a week of work, barely getting out of bed, too exhausted to deal with anything" sick. I caught the flu. And yes, I got my flu shot. It's not a magic bullet; it just increases resistance and sometimes decreases the severity of the flu itself. Well, if that's the case, I'm damn glad I got it, because I think I'd be dead now without it.

This is a bad, bad flu season. Take care of yourselves. And please, please, don't pressure me for fast responses to anything. I am too sick to die, and you may have to wait longer than usual for an answer.

Feel better. We're one of the worse hit states, and have seen several fatalities. The strain mostly protected from in this year's shot has mutated (of course) and turned into a nastier mess, but absolutely everyone needs to get their flu shot (and next year get it sooner).

We've had warnings on the news in the last few days about this really bad flu in the USA at the moment and that it will probably hit us in Aus in our winter. Crud.

Poor plague victim.

I got my shot in November so I've got a very mild dose and still EVERYTHING hurts. Don't even want to think about how you feel

I kept reading about how this was getting classified an epidemic. Where I live, we shut down a whole school for a week, we have flu shot shortages, and there are two different bugs running through the populace. The more minor one is a stomach bug that passes within three days. The other is this flu, and it doesn't appear to be affecting people who got the shot in the fall. Which, as one such person, all I can say is, I hope it stays that way.

Feel better soonest. Let the cats be your bed warmers. And have an icon of a pretty dwarf to look at.

And yeah, the flu is super scary this year. I got my shot back in late September and so far, *knocks wood* so good. I've urged everyone at work to get it but I suspect one co-worker will be out sick soon with it. Which means several others will follow since they didn't get the shot. I really hope for their sake I am wrong though. :(
