I am so blessed, I can't even begin to express it. The fact that I can tell these stories at all is an honor. The part where I get paid for it is like...what? Are you sure? Really? But I do, and it's amazing.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do as a pre-release countdown this time. I did the alphabet for Discount Armageddon, but that really only works once. Suggestions are totally welcome! And of course, we'll have another new short story going up on the website around the time the book comes out, featuring another Johnny and Fran adventure. Lots of things brewing here in Chez McGuire.
Thank you all, so much. Thank you for allowing me to tell these stories. Thank you for being here. And thank you for buying my books. This was a series that had a very narrow market when it started, and you bought enough copies to make DAW see that it had an audience, and that I should get to continue. Soon, we'll break through the candy shell and expose the true darkness of what people keep assuming is my fluffiest universe. Soon.
I can't wait.

Since Midnight Blue-Light Special suggests a diner it might be fun to frame the countdown on menu, either foods different incryptids like, or what ever you're inspired to by the menu item.

But there is no diner in the text, so that might read a little disingenuous.

So the whole time I was reading Discount Armageddon, a FUNNY FEMINIST URBAN FANTASY ABOUT A PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIVE DANCER, I'm like "This is a Sarah book. Hello, Sarah book. Yep, Sarah book. Well, I know what Sarah's getting for Hannukah! DONE!"

Will Verity star in all of them, or will her sibling get a turn?

Catherine has been buying your books for a while, but I didn't had read any of them until the Squeecast started up. You were the only regular author I was unfamiliar with, but after listening to the first episode my reaction was "She's awesomely fun so I must read her books." I haven't been let down yet (although I haven't read your Mira Grant books as they were too dark for my beloved to have bought).
BTW I've been catching up on the Velveteen stories and love her power set - I was very attached to my soft toys as a kid, particularly my teddy (who was named Teddy - I could be very literal-minded as a child). Somehow when I was in my early 20s I ended up being given counselling duties for a friend's teddy bears and was later dubbed their patron saint, so I really enjoy the relationship she has with her toys. Also, your superhero universe is the only one where it has felt remotely plausible to me that Santa occupied the same universe - still not sure how you managed that, but it feels utterly right and seamless.
