Stuff what I have done around the internet doobie-doo.

I have been doing stuff! On the internet! With people!

Have you ever wondered whether I had guilty pleasures? Well, I don't actually believe in being guilty about the things that bring me joy, but that didn't stop me from appearing on My Countless Lives to talk about my not-so-guilty pleasures. Looking at this list, I believe I can say, without reservations, that I'm a little weird. But I'm also super-fun to go to Disneyland with, so it all balances out.

Orbit asked me to write a thing about fictional politicians. So I wrote a thing about fictional politicians. Being as I am me, it's a pretty eclectic list. I kept it short by leaving off people who inherited their titles and became kick-ass royals, because yes, Neo-Queen Serenity is awesome, but that would have been the point at which things got completely out of control.

Oh, hey, I did an interview (as Mira Grant) for the Examiner. So that's a thing and you should totally read it.

Oh! Also! I did a sort of micro-interview with Romantic Times, also as Mira Grant. Not many questions, but the ones they asked were fun, so that works out.

Also, this one time, at band camp, I interviewed Mira Grant, and things quickly got really weird. So that's a thing which I have done on the internet.

And those are things and stuff what I have done on the internet.

Doobie-doo.

I knew Jed would be #1 on the fictional politicians list. <3
That is because you are SMART.

Oh my God your Vetinari answer is thing of beauty.
I just wish they'd put the line breaks before the footnotes.
I can vouch for Seanan's fun-at-Disney quotient. It is high.
That's relevant, right? Right?
Absolutely.
That interview went happy in the first exchange. I've seen a lot of lampshades, and that was a most excellent one, set right out next to a park bench where everyone can look at it funny. (:
Aw, thanks!
Love reading your tumblr too. The new MIra Grant books sound wicked!
Here's hoping.
I'm always stumped by the "guilty pleasures" question too - because I refuse to be guilty about stuff I like!
I end up going with "somewhat less socially-accepted pleasures"
Good solution.
Oops...
Awesome. I loved especially your interview with your snarkier (not evil, mind) twin.

By the bye, the Elder Daughter bought herself a paleontology e-book this morning.

But that's not important. What is important is that she emboldened me to buy "San Diego 2014". Which I just finished reading. Dammit, you made me all sniffly again. That was a moving tribute, both to fandom and to Firefly.
Aw, thanks!
Not going to lie, when I saw there was a list of fictional politicians, my first thought was, "Jed Bartlet is going to be on this list, right?" So I was very glad to see him as #1.

Off to read the other interviews!
Yay!
*claps happily*

I love that you don't believe in guilty pleasures (ridiculous phrase). I can't understand the rationale about feeling guilty about things you love. I only read the politicians list since I am still in the middle of Feed and I am totally spolier-phobic about books (completely opposite about TV, though I don't really believe that they spoil anything but that's a topic for another day).

I think there's nothing wrong with having Whitmore on there at all, since that speech all kinds of awesome. Also, this list is immediately validated by including Harriet Jones who is made of all kinds of win.
I am glad you approve!
I love your way with words in the politicians piece. Especially Klaus's entry. " Plus he looks damn good in his skivvies, fictional character from a comic book universe or not." So very, very true (and he has the hordes of fangirls to back that up. Even my mom fancies him a bit)

I've often wondered what would happen, theoretical crossover-ly speaking, if Klaus and Vetinari met. It'd be interesting, certainly.
There would be a lot of thoughtful staring.
Your interview of yourself Mira Grant is hilarious and awesome.
Aw, thanks. :)
I love, love, love the interview between you and Mira Grant.

(I feel that way sometimes about my professional-name-self and my fan-name-self. Boy howdy could we snark at each other. Though that would largely destroy the veil which is the whole point of the distinction between the two identities, so that's probably not so likely. ;-)
Hee yay.
You made my day with your interview of Mira Grant.
I may chuckle all afternoon now.
Yay!
You know, Mira Grant interacting with Seanan reminded me of Jackie interacting with Vel.

*goes to listen to the speech from 'Independence Day'*
I can see the similarities.
The entry for Harriet Jones made me scream in distress a bit. I was so mad about that.

(Incidentally, a while ago, faced with the entire original run of Doctor Who and overwhelmed by choice, I started with Seven because I remembered you mentioning a love for him and Ace, and watched his entire run, and have since made my best friend watch The Happiness Patrol and The Greatest Show In The Galaxy. Ace is my favorite. Thank you!)
You are so welcome!
I nearly died reading your interview with yourself (or your evil twin, if you prefer). Not only was it hysterical, but it was also very comforting. Now I'm reassured I'm not the only whose multiple personalities love taunting each other.
Hee yay.
