December! It is December! It is December 4th, which means we're exactly one month away from my birthday trip to Disneyland SHUT UP DISNEY MAKES EVERYTHING OKAY. And I've needed a lot of okay this winter.

All Velveteen stories have a home: on my journal. None of them have ever been sold to another market for first publication.

My father died a week before my husband's birthday 10 years ago. We decided that the only way to make that a happy birthday was to go to Disneyland. It worked. We had one magical day full of smiles and laughter as a break in the middle of dealing with funeral prep and grief.
