A(n apparently self aware) book mark is picked up in a frozen and desolate place by a yuki-onna. She puts it into the book she carries with her and the bookmark is plunged into the unbelievable story within.

What is the story? How could a bookmark possibly figure into it? How did a bookmark get to the deserted, frozen landscape? Why would she bother to pick it up at all?
