A young mathematician discovers a powerful new deduction system, and sets about trying to proving anything he can. Unbeknownst to her/him, what he proves becomes true, rather than the other way around.

I feel like that's been done before.
The numbers didn't lie; the numbers were impeachable in their honesty, because without the simple truths of the mathematical world, the universe must fall unavoidably into chaos.
