The thing about ashes is sometimes they give us a phoenix.

I am...really, I am overjoyed, and staggered, and a little bit dizzy over this:

Ashes of Honor is #16 on the New York Times Bestseller List for September 23rd, 2012.

This is the first time I have appeared on the print list (i.e., "the top twenty") under my own name. Late Eclipses and Discount Armageddon both made the list, but they were in the 30s, not the teens.

I am on the print list.

I am a New York Times Bestseller.

I am having real trouble not informing everyone I meet of that fact, including the guy at Starbucks who fixed my pumpkin spice latte. This isn't bragging. It's shock and delight and bafflement and awe.

Thank you all.

Thank you all so much.

Wow.

Congratulations! That's a milestone worth celebrating, or mentioning to everyone you meet.
Thank you!
Congratulations! You can now worry about being too "mainstream"....

By the way, Phil Foglio gave a brief review of Deadline on his LJ: http://philfoglio.livejournal.com/28005.html (down at the end of the entry). He seems to think politics are much more interesting than zombies. Personally, I think they're both about on a equal level of "morbidly fascinating things to avoid if at all possible" with telephone companies, used car salesmen, and door-to-door religion salespeople.
Phil's a sweetie. :)
I'd be shouting it from the rooftops too. Congratulations! Thoroughly deserved, the top 10 beckons.
Soon!
massive congratulations!

You've well and truly earned it
Thank you.
Ok, from the perspective of someone for whom you sort of have a saint-on-their-own-hearthstone relationship with ...
You are TOTALLY allowed to tell the barrista that he is making a PSL for a New York Times best-selling author. Heck, if I were doing so, I'd want to know that! Brag. You've earned the right.
Thank you. :)
Congratulations Seanan!! That's amazing news! You deserve it! Actually you more than deserve it. It's long overue recognition by the NYT of the awesomeness that is your writing, and the awesomeness that is you yourself!
I am so happy for you! :-)

Today: #16 on the NYT bestseller list, tomorrow: The world!!! :-)
MWAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!
Congratulations! I can't think of a more deserving book. :)
Thanks, sweetie.
Yay! Get used to it; it'll be happening regularly from now on.
I surely hope so.
There is no shame in being proud your work is so well-received and -regarded. Rock on, you fabulous woman, you! Oh, I read 'Sea-Salt Tears' today. Man, you're good at pulling on those heartstrings!
No, thank you. About time they recognized your awesomeness. And being proud of your accomplishments isn't a bad thing. The guy at Starbucks deserves to know who he's getting to serve coffee to. ;o)
Yay! I'm so glad!

I didn't get an answer from my local store about pre-ordering it (and it's a tiny store, so unlikely to have it otherwise), so I made my mom stop at a bookstore in a nearby city so that I could buy it the day after it came out.
Thank you!!!
Congrats!
Thanks!
WOOT!
GLEE.
Its so well deserved.
Congratulations.
Thank you.

Both the author and the story are well deserving of that honor. :) Can't wait to see you in the top ten!!
CORN KITTY APPROVES.

My life is complete.
Congratulations!!
Thank you!
Congratulations! your work deserves it. :-)
Thank you!
This is awesome. And I think you totally deserve to have the Starbucks guy call your name out as "New York Times best selling author" when your pumpkin spice latte is ready.
I second this motion!

All in favor say Aye!
