The thing about ashes is sometimes they give us a phoenix.

I am...really, I am overjoyed, and staggered, and a little bit dizzy over this:

Ashes of Honor is #16 on the New York Times Bestseller List for September 23rd, 2012.

This is the first time I have appeared on the print list (i.e., "the top twenty") under my own name. Late Eclipses and Discount Armageddon both made the list, but they were in the 30s, not the teens.

I am on the print list.

I am a New York Times Bestseller.

I am having real trouble not informing everyone I meet of that fact, including the guy at Starbucks who fixed my pumpkin spice latte. This isn't bragging. It's shock and delight and bafflement and awe.

Thank you all.

Thank you all so much.

Wow.

I am so happy.
Congrats! I am happy for you.
Thank you!
I've been showing people my copy and saying "She made the NYT Print List with this one - and I helped!"

I actually had several discussions with people over the past few weeks, both at Chicon and after, about how reading your blog has shown me how much more books are like movies in that the first week's numbers make a big difference. I always make sure to say "hey, buying a copy anytime is awesome, but if you really like the books and want to see the author get more and better contracts because she can put 'NYT Best-Selling Author' under her name, then think about going to a bookstore and getting your copy that all-important first week"

This is fantastic.

You're just suffering the urge to tell everyone you see about this? I think my reaction would be more along the lines of... no you know what, this is you and this is still my reaction, on your behalf: squee! squee! squee! The porpoises and I are very pleased for you. :)
Hee hee hee.

Hey, you're just that awesome!

Did you see that Phil Foglio [philfoglio] reviewed 'Deadline' in his LJ today? 'Recommended reading for America' indeed. ^_^
I did! He's a sweetie. :)
Yay! I hope it encourages even more people to read the series. Cheese and cake for all!
I hope so, too.
