You're so worried about the maiden, even though she's always waiting...

...for the next best thing.

We survived Worldcon! Holy crap! And now is the time on sprockets where I do the accounting, because otherwise I lose track of things and then nobody's happy. Have an inchworm post.

This is the current shape of my 2012/2013, with travel dates and everything. Beautiful travel dates. Hope to see you sometime in the months to come.

2012:
When Will You Rise?, October 2012.
"Rat-Catcher," November 2012.

No fixed deadline/being written/unsold:

"Fiber"
"Carry Me Home"
"Daughter of the Midway, the Mermaid, and the Open, Lonely Sea"
"These Antique Fables"
"Pixie Season"
"Velveteen vs. Bacon"
"Velveteen vs. The Robot Armies of Dr. Walter Creelman, DDS"
"Velveteen vs. The Fright Night Sorority House Massacre Sleepover Camp"
"Married in Green"
"Loch and Key"
Chimes at Midnight
Half-Off Ragnarok
Echo
"How Green This Land, How Blue This Sea"

Very little movement on the "being written" list this time, quite a lot of movement on the appearances, as 2013 starts to come more clearly into focus. Lots to do, and never enough time to do it in.

I need a nap.

Worldcon! A mere hour and a half away from my house! Which is full of Maine Coons!

(I am only a lot excited about this, since AggieCon didn't pan out because of my work schedule. I have GOT to make WorldCon work)
...if I come home from Texas with a Maine Coon, my mother will kill me.

But oh.

BABIES.

Why is there a line through one?

My oldest daughter (college sophomore) went to bed early last night to continue reading Ashes of Honor.

Because reasons.

Maybe it's finished. Maybe I abandoned it. Maybe I sold it but can't announce it yet. Once it goes to strike through, I no longer discuss it.

My copy of Ashes of Honour just arrived. I am looking forward to it muchly.
Since it seems to be officially in the to-be-published column, are you allowed to talk about "Train Yard Blues?" A quick search of your livejournal via google has sadly failed me and I'm positively dying of curiosity...
Soon.
May I suggest that breathing is a good thing? There needs to be time for breathing, even if there is no time for sleeping.
Yeah, there's really not.
I am realizing that I have not congratulated you on your Hugo. So..

YAHOOOOOO!
Thank you!
Congratulations on surviving Worldcon.
Especially now since I know of at least 8 staff/concon/guests who have come down with pneumonia since the con.

Because the usual con-crud wasn't good enough for a Worldcon......

(I'm fine - probably since I made it to a grand total of 3 events over 5 days. Your reading, your concert, and Sy talking about how Apollo 13 going boom. Stayed away from infectious people!)
...erk.
More Velveteen in November. Yay!
Is it deliberate that Chimes at Midnight appears on published in 2013 and also in no fixed deadline/being written/unsold?

So much of your writing coming up to look forward to reading.
Yes, because it's still being written.
That's a sensible sort of reason. In looking at your post again, I have no idea what made me decide that those two groups should be mutually exclusive.
So, another author that my parents follow posted about an upcoming anthology he is editing! If he is posting about it, would, in theory, other authors in the anthology be allowed to post about it too, or might it be different for the contributing authors versus the editor?

(Trying to be cryptic enough that if it is not allowed, I won't be exposing any details. But, excitement!)
I...

Have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Like, genuinely. You have reached "incomprehensible" in your cryptic.

You may think this odd, but I'm happiest about the new Velveteen stories!
Not odd at all!
YAY! New Velveteen for my birth-month! And "Rat-Catcher"!!!!!

And I cannot verbalize (type-ize?) how much I am looking forward to "Laughter at the Academy". Truly.
