Dual ARC giveaway.

In addition to the much-vaunted (and very pretty) Ashes of Honor ARCs, I currently have ARCs for two, yes two different Subterranean Press books. One, A Fantasy Medley 2, contains the first-ever Tybalt-centric novella, "Rat-Catcher," which explains how he first came to be a King of Cats, the origins of his name, and why, when pressed, he sometimes introduces himself to humans as "Rand Stratford." The other, When Will You Rise?, is a collection of two Mira Grant short pieces that have not previously been published in physical form. Both will be coming out this fall, as gorgeous, limited edition volumes.

Understandably, these are even more limited than normal ARCs. But they're worth the read (and the finished books...hoo, nelly). So what's a girl to do?

Give some stuff away, naturally. Specifically, one copy of each Subterranean Press ARC.

This particular giveaway is open to US residents or to non-US residents who feel like paying postage. I'm very sorry about the restriction, there, but I'm in the middle of convention season, and I don't have the spare dollars right now. To enter...

1. Comment with which book you'd like to win, and why.
2. Give your best plea to the Random Number Generator.
3. If you're a non-US resident, indicate both this and your willingness to pay postage.

I will use the RNG to choose three potential winners for each book, and then choose the plea I like best. Yes, that makes it a little arbitrary, but only a little. Winners will be selected on Wednesday, August 8th, at noon PST. The usual twenty-four hour window will then apply.

Game on!

ETA: Guys, don't tell me why you want to win/why you should win; tell the RNG why you, above all others, are the predestined owner of the book. I want you to bribe the random number generator like a corrupt politician. Have fun! Don't just tell me "because I want it." If you didn't, you wouldn't be here!

I would adore a chance to miss the Fantasy Medley as all the hints about Rat-Catcher make me want to read it so very much. I'm in the US so please pick me random number generator.

i am greedy (and would happily pay postage because i am British) and would like both books. i have been informed that if i do not read the Tybalt story to my cats, they will deposit hairballs in my shoes. (also i need my zombie-apocalypse fix and have no e-reader)

i beg you, RNG, save me from cat hairballs!
Tybalt! I mean, Fantasy Medley! (And how did i manage not to have heard about that?)

Pick me, little RNG, pick me! I will buy you little dice-shaped candy, if I can remember where I saw them.
I'd love the "When Will You Rise", because I love the Newsflesh world absolutely to pieces - and I've never owned an ARC and this would be a fabulous place to start! Pleeeese Random Number Generator pretty please with sugar on top? (I'm in the US)
I would like Fantasy Medley 2 because I've already pre-ordered When Will You Rise? and I want to read "Rat-Catcher"! And I don't normally buy short story collections/anthologies if I only want to read one thing. That's what libraries are for!

O Random Number Generator, hear my trenchant plea. Once I had a pen, a pen emblazoned with the words "Seanan McGuire" and "Rosemary and Rue," obtained from the first celebration (HAIL!) of the release of a Toby Daye tome. I treasured it, for not only did it write well, but it reminded me of my friend's success. One night, I nearly lost it, having left it in an Indian restaurant. So anguished was I! But I retrieved it, and all was well. Now, however, I have lost it again, never to be retrieved, as some hoodlum, some vandal, some hooligan violated the sanctity of my car and pilfered my backpack, pen in tow. O Random Number Generator, I leave it to you to determine whether some good luck should befall me to balance out this bad luck.

I offer you the numbers 3, 7, 25, 37, 42, 57, 69, 101, and 451 as a humble sacrifice. Feast upon them and their numerological, mythical, cinematic, and literary significance and understand that I truly deserve to be a winner, no longer a victim of chance but a victor!

I would love to win a copy of When Will You Rise so I can pose with it wearing the Newsflesh related tshirt my coworkers gave me when I abandoned them for medical microbiology last week. :D Also, I'd like it in print to go with the trilogy.

UK resident, willing to pay full postage. (Would the value be listed as less than $20? So I know if I need to factor in the customs charges. Not important unless I can persuade the RNG that it loves me).
Value listed would actually be $1. As an ARC, it has zero retail value, but I have to put something.

I'd like to win the "When Will You Rise" book to give as a gift to my friend Carole. Because she worked her butt off to help our team do really well for Relay this year, and I know she's a HUGE Mira Grant fan :) and I really can't afford to buy her a book right now, but I want to reward her. (and when I *can* afford to buy stuff then I'll go get her the rest of the books that she doesn't own yet.) So please RNG, help this Commander reward my hard working Captain!!!
"When Will You Rise?" — zzzombies? must! COMPLETE!

Oh, Great and Powerful RNG! Heed my seeding! Pseudo-me-no nonsense, for I _am_ the quasi-random! And yea, I do unto thee call out the number "forty-three", after which all your rolls are pre-determined.
As a very, very, very broke American college student, this might be the only way I get the Medley and it's lovely Tybalt story. So pleaaaaaaaaaase RNG Gods look kindly on me and pick me. Please?
As a totally unrelated moment, I love love love your icon!

Oh Random Number Generator, please honor me with your choosing of my happy US Tybalt loving self. Should I win, I shall locate the fabled Aeslin Mice and convince them of your greatness such that you will be always remembered for your super specialness. I shall provide them with cake in honor of your greatness every feast day and your name shall be long-remembered.

(US and Fantasy Medley)
A Fantasy Medley 2 would go nicely to keep my other ARCs happy.

Please RNG hear my plea, and if you don't pay off for this one could you give me the winning numbers for Powerball?

In Random's name, Come on lucky number!
When You Will Rise, of course! And my best plea, oh Random Number Generator aka Sir RNG, is that I adore this universe, and I will let everyone I know know the treasure I have won. Oh Sir RNG, you don't want me to cry, do you?? I have told every single person who I could make listen they have to read these books, or just... yeah. Smart friends obey and are glad they do. The ones not so smart? Well, friends no more! (ok just kidding, sorta). But you will be my friend FOREVER if you will just simply choose my number! Pretty please?

Random number chosen by my huskies (seriously!) is the fabulous number 50 because that is my age and 50 is Nifty. Yes it is. (and in rereading this comment, a very silly age indeed).

And we all live in the US.

Thank you, Sir RNG!
I am a USian who would like to win When Will You Rise?

RNG, I deserve to win above all else, because once, with my BFF, I created a church called "Church of Numbers and the Never Ending Decimal," or "CoNNED" for short. And thus ... numbers.

Hail the Random Number Generator! May it shine on me (and not some other person) and grant me the Ashes of Honor ARC!

(Also, I am a US resident.)
As a child, I never believed in the random number generator. Surely such things weren't actually random, my little Virgo mind would insist. Slowly, as I aged, I began to have faith in chaos and randomness, and now, oh random number generator, I believe as only a mathematical zealot can! Bless me, oh random number generator! In fact, I have become so faithful to the randomness that I will take a random choice of the book! Either would be awesome! My fate is entirely in your hands...err... generator!

However, in case that is unacceptable, I have flipped my own shiny silver random number generator and come up with When Will You Rise? as the book I should beg you for.

So be it.

I am, randomly, in the US.
Dear RNG,

I am a major Tybalt fan who has the misfortune of living in Wales (UK) and having student loans that need to be paid. I've loved the look of "Rat-catcher" from the first hints that I saw on Twitter and was disappointed to see that I couldn't really afford a copy of the book myself. But I know I could manage postage. So it would be awesome, RNG, if you could please, please just pick me for a copy of the Fantasy Medley.

Also, I never win anything, so this would be awesome!

(Barring that, if there's any way that the RNG could see clear to help me win EuroMillions, that would be awesome, too.)
We're all reasonable entities here. If you make sure I win the ARC of A Fantasy Medley 2, then I won't be forced to explain to the public at large why you're only a pseudo-random number generator when you've been oh-so-quietly passing yourself off as true random number generator. As if! And let's not get into your embarrassingly small seed state, or you're problem with correlation of successive values or your poor dimensional distribution of your output sequence... Just make sure I end up with the ARC, and no one needs to know.
Oh Mighty Random Number Generator, hear my plea! Please pick me to win an ARC of A Fantasy Medley 2. My love for Tybalt is only second to my love for random numbers.

I remain,
Randomly Yours
The Mira Grant ARCs are my poison of choice.
US is where I reside.

Oh omniscient and omnipotent RNG, you know I've never been as emotionally invested in a book series as I am in the Newsflesh trilogy. I'm here to beg your favor in this, most fantastic of contests. I pray it's time for mt number to be up.
(ppst you forgot your number)
I should like When Will You Rise?, please, RNC. It's my job to ascertain that nothing crumbles, that everything is kept in its proper place. You think I'm exaggerating? I had to send the plush sabertooth tiger screaming at the skies today because our storm was late.

I did file a request last month with Fallcrumble Heavy Industries' chief of limited editions, you understand. I am authorized by forces you cannot comprehend*. It's the blasted retrocourier service giving me the runabout. I can only accept delivery between the hours of 13 and 29 on inverse weekdays, and that simply isn't my shift. The retrocourier, I understand. I just can't do anything about it because of the service agreement.

Do me a solid, RNC. I am a US resident, and I'm drowning in paperwork over here.

* None of us comprehend them. They drink with the spirits of Accuweather and The National Examiner.
