People are awesome. Meet four generations of sheer mayhem.

Look what the amazing, fantabulous, incredible Amy Mebberson made for me! (PS: You totally want to track down and buy her comic book, Divalicious. I'll review it properly when I have time, but for right now, it's two volumes -- a mere twenty dollars! -- of sheer awesome, incredibly well-drawn, and fully rockin'.) But anyway:



That's Verity Price, front and center, looking like she's about to go and kick some serious cryptid butt. The three women behind her are the three generations that came before her. In red, plaid, and a rather rabid expression (she has grenades), we have her grandmother, Alice. In green, curls, and a deceptively placid expression (she has grenades, too), we have her great-grandmother, Fran. And in yellow, ruffles, and a manic grin (her husband has grenades, she has an army of devoted followers), we have her mother, Evelyn.

Did I mention that the cast of InCryptid is sort of scary?

I have a sudden odd approach to nomenclature. Because I'm guessing Verity got her last name from her grandfather, Alice's husband--but what happened to her father?

Ah, family trees! It goes as follows:

Alexander Healy married Enid Jones; they had three children, two of whom lived to adulthood. Their youngest son, Jonathan Healy, married Francis Brown; they had two children, one of whom lived to adulthood (that being Alice).

Alice Healy married Thomas Price; they had two children before things got a little complicated. Their son, Kevin Price, married Evelyn Baker. Their daughter, Moira Price, married Theodore Andrews. Kevin and Evelyn have three children -- Alexander, Verity, and Antimony. Moira and Ted have two children, names yet to be determined.

Over on Evelyn's side of the family, she was actually adopted by the Bakers, and her biological family is unknown. She has a younger brother (also adopted) named Robert. Her family later adopted Sarah Zellaby, although by that point, Evelyn had moved out and married Kevin; they consider themselves cousins, for lack of a better way to explain the relationship.

Yup. She supports the violence, she just didn't get the early training. She and Ted are the only non-combatants in the family, just now.

Jonathan Healy has a sibling? So Alice had an aunt or uncle floating around somewhere?

Why am I having visions of previously-unknown <counts on fingers> third cousins coming out of the woodwork at the worst (or best) possible time?
