Ten things make a post-con list.

10. Tired. So very, very, very, profoundly, mind-warpingly tired. I didn't sleep on the plane today, for a variety of reasons, and have thus effectively been awake for seventeen hours.

9. But I'm still up because I have to work tomorrow, and that means not allowing myself to become stuck on East Coast time.

8. I had a lovely time! I got to spend time with old friends and new ones, and unexpectedly with John Joseph Adams, who sat and read slush in the hotel lobby, like the diligent editor that he sometimes pretends to be.

7. Hugo voting closes tonight. I am trying to distract myself from thinking about this by shopping for the jewelry to wear with my Hugo dress. This is working. Sort of.

6. I'm too tired to write, so I've been processing Machete Squad edits instead. If I'm too tired to understand the sentence as it was originally written, it probably needs work.

5. The cats are ecstatic, and clingy. Like briars that purr.

4. I think I just found my Hugo necklace, and it is judging you.

3. I'm about to get off the internet and go watch TV until it's safe to go to bed, because oh, Great Pumpkin, the tired. It burns.

2. But I thought you might like to know I was alive.

I went away last weekend, too. When I got back and settled down in my chair, our newest kitten, Tybalt, came to curl up on my neck, just like this:

And then he purred and purred and purred. Kittens are great.

10. I remember what not being able to sleep on a plane was like. From Victoria to Toronto to Ottawa. Not sure which was more of a pain, the overnight Victoria-Toronto leg or the wait in Toronto for the final leg. I suppose the relative novelty value of an overnight plane ride was worth it. But...Pearson Airport.

7. Wishing you well whatever happens.

5. From what I've seen of other peoples' cats over the years...that seems just about right.

And i hope the purring briar patches don't all pile on TOP of you when you go down to sleep tonight. A pancaked Seanan wouldn't be a good thing.

Just awoke from an unintentional nap, without the excuse of time zone change - but that's why i schedule con recovery days.

I suspect Melissa would be ecstatic if all our beasts did was purr. Merlin squeaks (which is really funny coming out of an 18-lb cat), and Morrigan wanders around yowling through the night.

It was great to see you at Confluence!

This has nothing to do with your post, and my memory might be faulty, but I seem to recall that you are a fan of Bad Luck Woman Blues. If my memory is NOT faulty, you may want to know that the Lab has a bottle available on their Etsy site.

Oh, btw, are the post-trip cats the inspiration for the rose goblins?
