A few things to keep in mind:
There is absolutely no reason, by the text, that the actors cast for Georgia and Shaun need to be white. George is described as "pale" after she's been inside for a long period of time, but that's it. The only characters that really need to be cast Caucasian are Buffy and the older Masons (Stacy and Michael). Buffy because she's blonde, the Masons because they're a very specific sort of suburban archetype gone horribly wrong.
Your Shaun and Georgia should be similar in age, because they're going to be playing off each other a lot.
Explaining your casting/supplying pictures is a big, big plus.
At the end of the week—well, Thursday; I'm on a plane all day Friday—I'll pick the dream cast I like best and send them a signed copy of Blackout. Because I hate the post office but hate thinking about addresses more, this is open to everyone.
Have fun!

Kat Dennings as George - Chop her hair off... Kat is good at the tough-girl act, and she has a simple-yet-kind-of-exotic look that almost screams George at me.
Sean Faris as Shaun - Honestly, I think Shaun might have to be an unknown -- but this was the closest I could find to someone who looked like what I imagine for Shaun. IMO Shaun and George need to be similar looking because everyone thinks they are twins... they forget that they are not related by blood.
Vera Farmigga as Mrs. Mason - I love Vera... I think she is an incredibly talented actress and could play the part so well.
Jude Law as Mr. Mason - Do I need to say more? Its Jude Law!
Chloë Grace Moretz as Buffy - Chloë is 15, which is kind of where I always thought Buffy was... young, naive, but not innocent.
Jake Gyllenhaal as Rick - He's got the scruffy reporter thing down, and he is older than the actors I chose for George/Shaun.
Dileep Rao as Mahir -- He is older, but I always pictured Mahir as being a little more "robust" and older than the Masons.
Edward Norton as Ryman -- Norton is a genius actor, and he looks pretty much exactly like I pictured Ryman to.
Amy Adams as Emily Ryman -- She is photogenic, friendly, and still has the acting range to lay the smackdown when Tate turns out to be an ass.
Anthony Hopkins as Governor Tate -- I can't remember if Tate is supposed to be closer to Ryman's age, but I kind of always pictured him as a raging old man.

Kevin Kline as Michael Mason. Specifically how he appeared in this pic. Looks like a harmless math professor, doesn't he? http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1791395
Joan Allen as Stacy Mason. Calm, beautiful, and utterly ruthless. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm700821504/n
If I change things slightly, and cast Thandie Newton as Stacey Mason, then Zoe Saldana as George works. Otherwise, George is refusing to comply with any of the actors I suggest.
Agreed with whoever said Nathan Fillion for Peter Ryman. I think he'd do a wonderful job at "just folks," which seemed to be how Ryman was running his campaign.
Carrie-Anne Moss as Emily Ryman. This pic looks like someone who'd do quite well in a formal setting, but doesn't stay inside all day every day. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2423429
Dileep Rao as Mahir. I don't know why, but my mental picture of Mahir includes a physical perception of softness. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm93961216/nm
Ali Larter as Becks, but DEFINITELY NOT as a blonde. Becks is not blonde, despite the bleach. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3818356
Morena Baccarin as Magdelene. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm801151232/n
I am REALLY tempted to say Anthony Hopkins as Tate, but Tate wasn't quite that classy with his evil. Hmmm...Martin Sheen, perhaps? This picture has him looking just a tad off, which might fit well. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3848254
LeeLee Sobieski as Buffy, only she needs more curl to her hair. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm532387584/n
Dammit, who's the security guy who helped Shaun escape after George was killed? Because this is him. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm822189312/t

And it would be great for Sheen to get to play a evil politician.

I like Zoe for bothher awesome kick-assness and for her awesome girliness - George may not be girly but she knows how to fake it as a reporter. Specifically, she knows how to combine girly and practical, and I can see Zoe pulling that off.
Shaun Mason: James Kyson. He is an actor who combines comic timing with action well, and he has that devil-may-care look that I can see Shaun having.
Buffy: Anna Chlumsky. Looks a littlle day dreamy and innocent and easy to underestimate completely. Also could pass being cast as Charlize Theron's little sister (my choice for Dr Connelly)
Rick - Michael Fassbender. Because of how well he handled Magneto. Can convey both loss and moving past it. Somewhat grizzled, would easily manage to appear just the right amount older than James/Zoe
Mahir - Sendhil Ramamurthy. I like that he seems just a touch older than Shaun/Georgia, with just a little more to lose (I'm thinking ahead to the sequels).
and Sendhil is good at quietly driven.
Peter Ryman - Peter Cambor. Ok, he is too young for it, but that's what makeup is for. My mental image of Ryman on first reading Feed did look like Nate Getz.
Emily Ryman - Ashley Judd. Because she can totally knock the "classy but unpretentious" vibe out of the park.
Rebecca Ryman - Jennifer Lawrence - Ok, she may not be on-screen in the book (I can't remember), but tell me that Hollywood would not give screentime to her heroic saving of her sisters!
Governer Tate - Gene Hackman. Actually, I originally liked William Sandersen for this and then changed my mind as preparing my post, so I don't have a picture handy. But that was largely because I was trying to remember Gene Hackman's name and drew a blank until just now.
Stacy Mason - Annette Bening. I can't think of a better Stacy Mason. She can be the professional ratings "mom", without bringing neurotic drama into the mix.
Michael Mason - Jack Coleman. Kinda distant, but more of a nose in research distant.
Steve - Either Derek Luke or Jeremy Renner. I don't remember if Steve is ever described physically by George in the novel.
But they both can look the smart/skilled/don't-fuck-with-me security crew type.
Dr Joseph Wynne -Jeff Daniels. I went looking for someone Southern-drawlish, and also someone who would seem right for both Feed and Deadline.
Dr Kelly Connelly - Charlize Theron. Can rock the scientist, and also pass as Anna Chlumsky's more focused big sister.

Clea DuVall for Georgia, because she exudes the perfect balance of strength, determination and emotional vulnerability, and also looks eerily close to how I pictured her:
Wentworth Miller for Shaun, because he can do lackadaisical goof, serious brother and reckless angry all at once, and also because he feels right in my head:
Claire Danes as Buffy, because she can do subtle, and also moves well between hippy-drifty and savvy-sharp:
Lenora Crichlow for Becks, because it feels right:
Raza Jaffrey as Mahir, because he has the perfect voice:
Glenn Close for Stacy, because she has just the right balance of dynamic, urban and creepy as fuck:
David Strathairn for Michael, because he can really do the creepy-manipulative-but-genial-and-popul
Alan Ruck as Ryman, because he can do that clean-cut, friendly senatorial look:
Brian Cox as Tate, because he could totally pull off the Limbaugh thing:
and Mary McCormack as Emily, because she looks right:
Done! Also, I have officially spent way too much time doing this.

Shawn Mason – Jason Dohring. I know I read a post by Seanan saying that Jason would be her pick but it just works.
Georgia Mason – Kristen Bell. I just can’t go past the chemistry between Jason and Kristen on Veronica Mars and Kristen has the gutsy attitude required for Georgia. She would have to have brown hair of course.
Georgette "Buffy" Meissonie – Amanda Seyfried. She’s got the right look and she’s capable of pulling off Buffy’s tech aspects as well as her duplicity.
Rick Cousins - Martin Freeman – Already attuned to blogging from Sherlock he would make a great Rick.
Peter Ryman – Rob Lowe. Sam Seaborn is the archetype of the idealist young politician and would suit Peter Ryaman.
Emily Ryman - Jennifer Ehle. I was so impressed with Jennifer Ehle in theIdes of March, even if her part was small, she was the perfect politician’s wife.
Michael Mason – Michael Douglas. He might be a bit old but my reasoning is that as they adopted Shawn and Georgia he doesn’t necessarily have to be young. He has the air of a collage professor and people would trust what he says.
Stacey Mason – Catherine Zeta Jones. This was a hard one. I decided on Catherine because of her marriage to Michael Douglas and her work in Entrapment shows she can do Irwin activities such as climbing through laser beams.
Mahir Gowda - Kunal Nayyar. I don’t know whether he can do straight acting but I love him on Big BangTheory.
Rebecca "Becks" Atherton – Summer Glau. Because what movie wouldn’t be made better by having Summer Glau as a part of the cast. Despite it being a bit role in the first movie her name would drawn people in and she would kick ass in Deadline.
Shawn Mason – Jason Dohring. I know I read a post by Seanan saying that Jason would be her pick but it just works.

Governor Tate – Sir Ian Mckellen. This may be influenced by the fact that I recently watched X-men but he is a great villain and would bring the necessary belief that what he was doing was right to turn Tate from a caricature to a vision of a frightening future.

Shaun - Ian Somerhalder: This was very tough. I wanted someone for Shaun who was conventionally attractive - the kind of generic white male lead look - who was still a good actor. I'm not 100% satisfied with this pick, but he is capable of excellent emotional performances.
Mr Mason - Harrison Ford: You have to trust that face! He is an actor who has played a) a lot of heartthrobs and b) a lot of nice guys, so he looks like the kind of man you trust and find endearing. How he looks would be in direct conflict with the personality of Mr Mason.
Mrs Mason - Jessica Lange: I was watching Titus last week and loved her performance as a tricky woman doing her best to manipulate everyone around her. She has what I feel is the right look for the character and is capable of being both icy and charismatic.
Buffy - Ksenia Solo: I loved her in Lost Girl! She is very pretty - almost doll-like - and would be able to play Buffy as both comic and serious.
Senator Ryman - Idris Elba: I watched Luther because it had him in it. He's an excellent actor and alhtough he seems to have been playing villains of late he would work perfectly as modern politician with a grown daughter, and a loving husband.
Emily Ryman - Lisa Ray: She has been great in The World Unseen and Water. I'm working from TWU for this one, in which she plays a mother devoted to her children who is much more complex than she outwardly appears. She's very warm and elegant.
Becks - Emma Stone: As a confident Irwin Emma could absolutely command the camera, and would probably get a lot of the best lines! I really enjoy her as a comic actress, but I also think that she could carry the unrequited love for Shaun very well.
Maggie - Dichen Lachman: When Dichen finally got her own episode in Dollhouse I was overjoyed. As Maggie isn't field-trained I thought Dichen's performance as Priya - determined but domestic, and definitely a woman who must force herself to fight - and I can certainly see her as a very intelligent heiress who would rather stay out of the action.
Kelly Connolly - Sheetal Sheth: Kelly has a lot of innocence about her, or rather she doesn't immediately leap to question the motives of those around her. Sheetal has enormous eyes and a very open and expressive face, and I think she could portray Kelly's slow journey to awareness and determination very well.
Dr Abbey - Alex Kingston: Oh Alex, leading lady of my heart. She was fabulous in Upstairs Downstairs this year as a conflicted, driven, middle-aged archaeologist, and I'm certain she would be able to act the hell out of this part - along with Dr Abbey's near unbreakable calm and elusiveness.
Dr Shaw - Charlize Theron : She's so fabulous! That, and sci-fi goddess of my heart. She is very commanding and severe. I would possibly also accept Uma Thurman.
Dr Wynne - Harry Lennix: I'm not actually reccing him because of Dollhouse. I'm reccing him because his role as Aaron in Titus convinced me that he can play the villain very, very well.

I love these casting posts!
First, the Masons:
- I love Noomi Rapace for George. She throws herself into rolls and can be very remote, with subtle emotion, which is a must for the character.
- This might seem like an odd fit, but I like Aaron Johnson (from Kick Ass) for Sean. He has that steely determination with the smirk I think of as Sean runs around in death-defying situations. I think Aaron is a tad young for the part (at least in terms of his face), but I like that he is fairly slight. I picture Sean as wide-shouldered and lanky, and never standing up straight.
- For Stacy, Felicity Huffman. She can look fragile but anyone who looks closer sees the steel underneath. I also think she'd enjoy the role and bring a lot of Stacy's bitterness out.
- For Michael, I could totally buy Stanley Tucci. He could appear warm and supportive while showing how he allows his wife to manipulate the situation. He also has the hardened professor-look.
Next, the Crew:
- Rick can be no other than Joshua Malina. He's a bit older, but he also has that understated air about him that make people take him for granted. I think this meshes well with Rick's character.
- Buffy should be played by Brittany Snow. I love her acting and she would rock a pop-pseudo-Barbie-tech-princess.
- Mahir is a little more difficult for me to picture, but I'll suggest Raza Jaffrey. I like his acting in Smash (though his character is unevenly written), but I'd probably want him to gain 20-30 pounds (I always picture Mahir as very solid in my head).
- Becks... strangely enough, I picture Emma Caulfield. She has a strong face, and I think she could be convincing as a no-nonsense kind of character.
And finally, the Rymans.
- Senator Ryman should be played by Benjamin Bratt. He has the charisma and firmness needed for the character.
-And finally, Emily should be played by Embeth Davidtz. She's a great character actress and would be wonderful in the scenes required for Emily's character.

And I'm casting based purely on matching my mental images alone and not acting ability (that's a whole different question).
For Shaun I see Rowly Dennis:
http://www.poptower.com/rowly-dennis-pi
I like that picture because it looks like a blogger shot.
and for Georgia I totally picture someone like Jordana Brewster:
https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CH
(I couldn't pick just one picture - she was too perfect of the actresses I looked at)
For Georgia I definitely required someone that shared similiar features with a striking Indian woman while yet retaining a different ethnic identity. Also, obviously her dark hair was mentioned often enough.
Is it terrible that I see them as beautiful? Maybe it's because I love Georgia so much so I automatically assign onto her physical characteristics that I'm drawn to. and Shaun to me just has to look like someone that is going to poke things with sticks and of course he has to try and look good on camera. I mean, how else would he have such a high viewership? Especially amongst the females of America? Not that I care about it, but I mean, his hair's going to be bleached from being outdoors and from well, bleach. And then he'll likely tan easily because he's not perma sunburned and freckled. You know that Teutonic heritage that could have dark hard but the sun insta bleaches and without sun is pasty but almost immediately tans? Also known as Dark German? That's his genotype.
This is going to seem weird, but imagine Jessica Simpson as Buffy. She's short, and for me Buffy has to be short and not just because everyone in Whedon's show is short (seriously? Charisma is the tallest at like 5'6?) and can totally pull off all the blonde characteristics of the character and I think I even give her enough depth of acting to pull of the intelligence.
I tried to look for some of the other characters but either they weren't vibrant enough for me to completely visualize them or well, maybe the right match just isn't out there. Or they could be played by so many people it could be anyone! Who can say. :)

And Shaun and Buffy should be Nicholas Brendan and Sarah Michelle Gellar respectively.
It just works.
And heck, they both have experience in horror genre.
Not sure about the others but maybe Anne Hathaway?
For the older Masons, let's go completely nuts and hire Paty Segal and Ed O'Neil.

Mahir - Dev Patel
Becks - Geneivieve Paladecki - Georgia isn't just aggressive - but someone who could play that way would be perfect for Becks. And she matches my mental image VERY closely. Could have been a debutante, but tough.
Buffy - Dianna Agron - thought about Hayden Panetierre, but Dianna has this kind of softness to her that I imagine Buffy has. You can believe that she's dreamy, yet smart. AnnaSophia Robb is another great pick.
Georgia - Allison Scagliotti. Ellen Muth is very George-like in attitude (not to mention having played a George herself!) I'm not so sure about the hair, but hair is easily fixed, right? Danielle Panabaker has a lot of the right look too. Of the three, I think I'm casting my vote for Danielle.
Shaun - Ian Somerhalder. I had options, and comparisons, and then I saw that picture of him someone has posted, and all of those thoughts went out the window. He has EXACTLY the right look.
Love the touch of Sarah Michelle Gellar for Stacy Mason. How about Nicholas Brendon for Michael? I've always seen him as kind of a Xander.
Second the Emily Deschanel for Emily Ryman.
Gabriela Vergara for Maggie. Runner-up, Eliza Dushku. It's the dimples.
Absolutely, Seanan/Mira should play Dr. Abbey! That would be awesome.

One that might get me scoffed at, but Zac Efron would be my Shaun. If you try and forget High School musical, he's grown up into a pretty good actor and he's got the smile to sell the Irwin merchadise:
Liam Cunningham for the world-weary Rick:
I'd like to second someone else's Dichen Lachman and Nathan Fillion for Bex and Ryman respectively. Perfect casting that I can't improve upon.
I'm struggling for a Buffy. Maybe Maisie Williams? Although she might be a bit young, she's got the fragile, pale indoorsy look of a Fictional. Need blonde hair dye though:
