Open thread because I have used up all my go.

Thomas says that it's time for an open thread, because I have used up all of my erudite and coherent, and have been staring at my screen, not actually doing anything, for hours. This time would be better spent petting the cat, ergo, it needs to stop. So here is a picture of Thomas cuddling his beloved plush Perry the Platypus to get you started. Nothing starts a conversation like a Maine Coon hugging a secret animal agent.

But anyway. Open thread! Say anything! Woo! Thomas says so.

*g* Every time I get tadpoles (depends on whether we get a heavy enough rain during the summer) I'm caught by surprise. And then it's difficult to fix the edges and keep them fixed for the weeks it takes them to mature. This year I have solid wood railings as a basis for the mud edges, and I'll cover the mud with flat caliche rocks; I have plenty on my property! I'm hoping there'll be a lot less upkeep in years to come.

I hope I actually get some; no rain last night, and we're still in a severe drought. But it has to rain sometime...

Lots of drought to go around this year, sadly -- in between the floods.

We used to lose use of our kiddie pool for a couple of weeks each year, when the amphibians were (ahem) active. It was great watching the eggs develop into tadpoles into air-breathing hoppy critters, various.
