"San Diego 2014" now available for pre-order!

Hello, boys and ghouls. It's your friendly internet horror hostess with the most...machetes...coming at you with another update in the zombie roller coaster ride that is my work as Mira Grant. Specifically, I want to let you all know that "San Diego 2014: The Last Stand of the California Browncoats," is now available for pre-order.

Click here for all the exciting details!

This stand-alone novella follows the events of the last San Diego International Comic Convention after the Rising, and is framed, narratively, by Mahir Gowda's interview of the only known survivor of the event, Lorelei J. Tutt (USCG, Retired). We already know how it ends; we already know how it began. What matters is what happened in the middle.

"San Diego 2014" is being released via the Orbit Short Fiction program, and will be available in just about all ebook formats on July 11th, 2012. The retail cost is $2.99. While Orbit is working on getting the program up and running in other regions, it is currently US-only. I'm sorry about that, and you should contact Orbit if you have any questions.

I don't either, as a reader, but this is something over which I have absolutely zero control. Unless someone expresses an interest in a physical edition, it won't happen. Orbit did not commission these for physical printing.
Does this mean you currently have the rights to the print version of San Diego 2014 ...?

Btw, I just saw the cover of When Will You Rise and the depicted scene is very much like I visualized it:

Yes, but not until Orbit's exclusion period has expired.
Any chance of getting a collection of all the related short stories/novellas in a book? I mean, 'When Will You Rise' is nice, but it's not that big for what they're charging, y'know? I'd love to see Orbit do a big book with Countdown, San Diego 2014, and all the other related stories.

(Tracked down copies of Deadline & Blackout. Apparently only one bookstore in my city still had Deadline in stock. Will be reading this week...)
As noted above in this thread, this is something over which I have absolutely zero control. If you want to see Orbit do a physical edition, you need to tell Orbit, not me; anything coming from me is suspect, because of course I want them to do things which would involve paying me more money.
