There's room for everyone on the Wall.

And now, the moment I have been quietly waiting for...

Ahem. From today's announcement at Publishers Weekly:

"Film rights: Mira Grant's trilogy, Feed, Deadline, and Blackout, optioned to Rachel Olschan, producer at Electric Entertainment, by Pouya Shahbazian of FinePrint, on behlf of Diana Fox at Fox Literary."

WE OPTIONED THE FILM RIGHTS TO FEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, this doesn't mean this will necessarily be a movie (although I hope there will), but it takes us a huge, huge step closer to that becoming a reality. Everyone I've dealt with has been amazing, supportive, and enthusiastic, and now there's a beautiful chance that maybe, we can see Shaun and Georgia Mason on the big screen.

How's that for a book-day present?

ETA: Belated comment amnesty, because you guys are awesomely enthusiastic, and wow will I never get to all these comments!

OMGBBQALPACA!

Fantastic news! You must be ecstatic!!

Also, I wondered how long it would take. I kind of figured it was just a matter of time. :P
Whoo hoo! Mazel tov!

Is there already a dreamcasting thread?
I vaguely remember Seanan listing her choices for Georgia and Shaun a while back, but I have no idea when this was.

Then again, I've dreamed all sorts of things that seemed to make sense later on.

The only Zombie books I read. The only Zombie movies I will voluntarily go see!

I can hardly wait a week and a half before I can "read" Blackout! (The audio versions are the *ONLY* way to experience these books in my mind.)

GRATS darlin! And HAPPY BOOK DAY!

Whee! Um, I mean, "Hail the optioning of the film rights!"

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to buy Blackout, quietly enjoy the fact that I've met a published author who has an optioned book, and see how much fretting I can do while reading.

In other news: When the announcer at a sporting event tells the crowd to "Make some NOISE!" nobody seems to notice if one person is yelling, "CHEESE! AND! CAKE!" Also, basketball games make more sense if try to I think like an Aeslin mouse with a basketball fixation. I'm not sure if this says something about the mice, or about sports in general.
I never really thought about the comparison before, but it works. Understand the mice, and you understand being a fan of anything.
