Yesterday, io9 published an excerpt of Blackout, the final book in the Newsflesh trilogy. Today, an intrepid Newsie hacked into the CDC computer system and liberated another file. For this one, though, you'll have to do a little digging...

Below is a puzzle whose answer reveals one of the five codes you'll need to access the second, top-secret document.

Ah, nuts. My copy of Feed is still on loan.
Oohh. Possible early copy--shiny.
Commenting as requested. And should the deities of randomness smile on me, I will still buy the copy I was planning to & give it to my formerly completely mundane aunt, who is turning into your #1 fan. (Hmmmm...I may have created a monster.)
oh god. I don't even know if I want to read any more, it might make the wait for the 22nd that much more unbearable!

nnnnngh... can't... give in...
OH MY GODS THIS CHAPTER IT IS AMAZING AND AWESOME AND ALL THE COOKIES FOR GEORGE

... I mean. Thank you!
I am so excited. Waiting is hard.
Hope any sort of comment works here. I love the idea, but I do not own any of those other books. I know nothing about them and it seems a little unfair to spend $40 odd on books to get a free preview. I get that Orbit is promooting others books and that's awesome. It just seems like an expensive promotion.

Sigh, June 1st (or May 22 isn't THAT far)

I know this is orbits promotion Seanan and I'm not grumbling at you, I get why they are doing it, and like I said the germ of it is actually a kind of cool idea.

Heather
So sorry Orbit. It's 5:45 in the morning I am not awake yet. Really really cool promotion.

Can't try to investigate until later today but going to comment now to (not quite) avoid the rush ;). *bounce* *bounce* in anticipation of May 22 :).
I was introduced to the song 'I Enjoy Being a Girl' on the Muppet Show, where it was accompanied by the blonde guest star and Miss Piggy demonstrating their martial arts skills. I've always thought of that song as a feminist anthem.
I can't wait for Blackout! In the meantime, super-secret messages rock!
Commenting from the UK :D
Commenting because, well, who wouldn't want to have a copy of Blackout as soon as possible!?
I am so totally excited for this book I can't wait for it to come out. And it's released on my birthday!

*flails*
More MidSouth mayhem, please!
Ahhhhhh! So excited for Blackout, it's ridiculous. Even if I win, I'll end up buying an e-book copy for my Kindle, so!
Haha, I never win anything. But there's always a first time for everything? Comment!
oh gosh, LJ is freezing on me. Sorry if this double posts.

Not sure if this has already been noted or not, but I think there's a goof in the clue at Sword and Laser?
Woo! I can't wait to read it! And now I'm off to find the clues!
Commenting!

I shall comment, and such.
Aaaaaaah do want!! ^_^
Yay! Open to Canadians!
I've already pre-ordered a Kindle copy for me and a dead tree copy for my daughter (that she'll get more than a week ahead! *pout*) but I'd love to get a third copy to infect give to more friends... ;-)
This comment should not be considered an entry! (Not that I don't want to win but I'm buying regardless.)

I just wanted to note... I guess my email to you about Sword and Laser is kind of silly in retrospect given their participation in this scavenger hunt. ;)
