Music:Shock Treatment, "We Just Gotta Keep Going."
The sun never sets on those who ride into it.
It's time to go back to Jonathan Healy and Frances Brown, as they make their way across America, heading for Buckley Township, Michigan. Only this time, it seems they've reached their destination, which begs the question...what comes next?
All cover graphics are by Tara O'Shea (be sure to admire the awesome cover she did for "Flower of Arizona," which is new to the page). All electronic conversion thus far has been done by scifantasy. As both of them are awesome, we applaud them now.
I don't usually read long stories on the computer (curséd bifocals), but this was definitely worth the effort. I may have to block out a day to read everything else (I've already read the other Incryptid stories).
Hail the Priestess of Unexpected Violence! Hail the Priestess of "Talking Sense" to the Priestess of Unexpected Violence and Being Surprised at How Much Sense the Latter Already Has!
Thanks you, I hope you don't mind me saying but I find the Jonathan and Fran stories probably more enjoyable than the book so far, as I read the two short stories first and Discount Armageddon just feels too modern :)
I followed your link. I'm new to the series so I started to read One Hell of a Ride. The first four paragraphs are repeated between the fifth and sixth. That's kinda startling. I never got to nit pick directly to an author before. :D
Yes, I am aware. Since the story is totally free, I've been prioritizing fixing the files under actually fixing things that are broken and for which people pay money. This nit has been picked enough that every time it gets picked now, it reduces my willingness to format the next story for people to download, totally for free.
So I thought "One Hell of a Ride" was okay, but for some reason, I couldn't really get into it, and I think maybe because it was more focused on Jonathan, since I liked the Fran-focused "No Place Like Home" a lot more. Plus, Enid Healy is pretty great. I need to read "The Flower of Arizona" now to find out how these two crazy kids met (I thought they met on the train, which may also explain my trouble connecting with them)! And then I think "One Hell of a Ride" will make more sense. Are you going to continue with Jonathan/Fran shorts? I need Fran to throw knives at things.
Thank you for this, Seanan. I read it last night and I was giggling (about the Mice of course) from the second page. I adore the Mice and their little city. I've got an attic and I wouldn't mind at all if a colony of Aeslin Mice just decided to move in.

This doesn't make it all better (only some serious unconsciousness is going to do that at this point) but it is awesome and makes me happy.
Thank you!

I now love the Aeslin mice EVEN More than before. I had not thought this possible. I think it was the paving that did it.

As I said on twitter, the Healy family is quite nuts. Practical, mind you, but nuts. That's a good thing I think?
