The 2012 Hugo ballot is live...

...and between myself-as-me and myself-as-Mira, I am on the ballot four times. Which is the first time a woman has ever been on the ballot four times in a single year. I'm nominated for...

Best Novel, Deadline.
Best Novella, Countdown.
Best Fancast, The SF Squeecast.
Best Related Work, Wicked Girls.

I am both insanely excited and paralyzed with fear, which means I feel sort of sick to my stomach. Thank you, thank you, thank you a thousand times to everyone who nominated; it means the world to me, and we have made history this year.

Congratulations to all the nominees, especially Jim Hines (Best Fan Writer), Betsy Wolheim (Best Long Form Editor), the voice of Toby, Mary Robinette Kowall (Best Novella), Paul Cornell (Best Novelette) and my beloved Cat Valente (Best Novella). I'll post the full ballot soon, when I get over the twitching and the nausea.

Thank you so much. This is such an honor. I am so lucky. I can't stop crying.

Thank you.

First of all, let me say much congratulationage! 4 nominations in a single year is impressive. 4 nominations across 3 subgenres is...is... Nope, got no words for that level of awesome.

I wish to point out that it is not necessary to attend the WorldCon to vote for the Hugos. As I will be doing, you can purchase a supporting membership for $50, which gives you voting rights for the Hugo Awards. Just something for everyone to be aware if not already mentioned.

Oh, and Seanan? If anyone gives you any lip about you being multi-talented (including yourself) please feel free to point out to them you have been Hugo nominated three times in the Horror subgenre, won a Campbell Award in the Urban Fantasy subgenre, been nominated in the filk category and fancast. Thats a pretty strong repetoire. Now you just need to work on Dramatic Presentation...

Thank you. Very much.
