The 2012 Hugo ballot is live...

...and between myself-as-me and myself-as-Mira, I am on the ballot four times. Which is the first time a woman has ever been on the ballot four times in a single year. I'm nominated for...

Best Novel, Deadline.
Best Novella, Countdown.
Best Fancast, The SF Squeecast.
Best Related Work, Wicked Girls.

I am both insanely excited and paralyzed with fear, which means I feel sort of sick to my stomach. Thank you, thank you, thank you a thousand times to everyone who nominated; it means the world to me, and we have made history this year.

Congratulations to all the nominees, especially Jim Hines (Best Fan Writer), Betsy Wolheim (Best Long Form Editor), the voice of Toby, Mary Robinette Kowall (Best Novella), Paul Cornell (Best Novelette) and my beloved Cat Valente (Best Novella). I'll post the full ballot soon, when I get over the twitching and the nausea.

Thank you so much. This is such an honor. I am so lucky. I can't stop crying.

Lovely to see this. Given that you can decline a nomination how long have you been holding the glee in for ?

And its great to see Jim, Paul and Cat on the list to , Mary Robinette Kowall does a great job as the voice of Toby that I am sure it will influence me atleast when it comes time to read her work.

I just pinged someone on AIM with *ALL THE SHRIEKING* and I think that about sums it up. Every nomination is a merited one, but I'm EXCITED about Wicked Girls. Is this also the first time a music CD has been on the ballot, do you know?

I'm so glad for you and the other nominees you mentioned. I got a membership so I could nominate these things, waited too long, then had computer problems at the last minute and couldn't nominate. I WILL be voting for you, and last year was close...so fingers crossed.

First filk album **GLEE**

Is "Countdown" the first Hugo novella nomination that was only published as an ebook in the nominating year? Maybe more history!

So what do you plan for an encore? :-P

I'm not sure if Deadline will win, due _only_ to its middle-novel status, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Blackout there next year win as a judgement on the trilogy as a whole.

...which is not to say I won't still be rooting for you. It's truly no less than you deserve. :-)
