I expected Verity to be a better fighter, but the story was great. Like many here I like Istas, and the mice.
Verity and her family are fascinating, and I look forward to seeing if Dominic can keep walking that tight rope or if he ends up betraying someone.
Did anyone else notice that the relatively low caliber gun shot sound hurt the ears of the servitors, but the loud music later didn't seem to, or am I just over focused on hearing?
I hope Kitty getting the bar means we get to see more of the coworkers I like all of them.
Hail! Book of extra rereadability!
Hence forth will this 7th day of March be dubbed the celebration of the release of the pink book of gummy bears and many visitors!

The gunshot was a sharp, unexpected report in an enclosed space with echoes. Verity's music was in a club that was designed to have much louder music played, while still allowing conversation.

She has a chance to rearm, but ends up going back into the sewer with more or less the weapons she'd been carrying before less the baton which was broken or lost in the last fight. This seemed like bad planning even though I acknowledge she was going in when she didn't plan to. It seemed pretty obvious that she was going to have to go back in at some point, so it would have made sense for her to be carrying something more effective than her knives.
On the actual fighting I'd expect someone who can draw from her corset to be able to cut an appendage near her throat.
On further thought it might be that the fight where she most successfully kicks ass is the boogeyman fight at the beginning. Since I'm not familiar with which baddies are really bad in this new universe I may have expected similar success against cryptids that are colossal bigger harder baddies, just because I didn't realize they were that much badder.
I thought the fight at Dave's was really well done. I thought the use of music was really interesting. I'd just been looking for the hearing thing to come up again since the first sewer fight, so when I saw that she was going for music that was my first thought.
In general I really enjoyed the book, and look forward to the rest of them those were just things that made me go huh.
