DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON open thread!

To celebrate the release of Discount Armageddon, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

Would have been interesting to see if sacrificing a non-virgin would have befouled the works. Always wonder about that in books (as I recall, "Summon the Keeper" went into that...).

Also, way to assume that all single cryptid girls don't get it on, there. Unless they can't find any males of their species, anyway...actually, come to think of it, there might be a lot of virgin cryptid girls for that reason.

I thought that (unlike in the scene in the Summon the Keeper series) there was no actual practical use of the sacrifices here. The snake cult clearly thought that they were doing something towards waking or binding the dragon, but that doesn't meant that they were right. Even if they were right about the sacrifices helping, they might not have been right about the virginity being relevant.

I read it as "the snake cult is assuming that that single cryptids are virgins because the snake cult is composed of twits who don't have much clue", not "the author is assuming that single cryptids are virgins".

True. It just occurred to me that it was more likely that single cryptid girls would be virgins if they ah, have less options of people of their species to lose their virginities to, so the odds would be better. (Poor dragon princesses.)

Plus, yeah, idiots if they think Verity is an actual virgin. In those outfits? In this decade? BWAHAHAHAH.
