DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON open thread!

To celebrate the release of Discount Armageddon, here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

You can also start a book discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence, since I always wind up getting involved in these things.

I usually can't re-read a book the same week. Today I had a four-hour (each way) bus commute, and one book. There was almost as much gleeful giggling on the way home, and I had to pause every now and then to just bask in the delight. Dominic's slow coming-around! THE MICE! The holidays! Batgirl! The vaguely-legal sublet! ISTAS! FLAMING DRAGON PRINCESSES.

Unexpectedly, Dominic reminded me just a little of my dear best friend, he who loves zombies, chainsaws, and bad puns a little too much for the comfort of most people around him. It's the flagrant aiming for Lawful Good, with a somewhat outdated scorecard for "good", with bonus snark, horrible endearments, and slightly not-expecting-that attitude towards romance. (I am *never going to tell him this*, but it remains true, and made me smile.)

I have to admit when dragon princesses' immunity was mentioned my first thought was "what do you MEAN they have no special abilities?"

But the job that popped into mind as perfect for them doesn't pay very well (I think) and involves serious physical effort, so I guess they're unsuited for other reasons.

They'd be great firefighters, if not for the part where it would probably blow their cover. There are probably a few dragon princesses who don't know they're dragon princesses and have gone into firefighting. Or pyromania.
