DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON, in stores now!

As I am making this post, I am realizing that it's one of the last times I'll have the awesome Discount Armageddon cover icon as my default. It always changes to reflect my upcoming book, and DA isn't the new baby anymore. It's a bittersweet feeling. I'm so excited to have this book out in the world, and yet.

And yet.

I've been doing lots to get ready for this book release. I've been giving interviews—one with Chuck Wendig, at Terrible Minds, wherein I say "fuck" a lot, and one at My Bookish Ways, wherein I say "fuck" substantially less. (The My Bookish Ways interview is in conjunction with a giveaway, open to international entries. Just saying.) I've been distributing ARCs and author copies. I've been hyperventilating.

Okay, I've actually been hyperventilating a lot. Because starting a new series is scary, and introducing the world to a whole new cast of characters is scary, and a whole lot of things involved with this book are scary, and I am generally just a frozen ball of fear.

But the book is out now. In both physical and electronic editions, and you can order it at will. I'm going to swing by Borderlands and sign pre-ordered copies after I get off work, and then I'm going to go to Kate's and eat Indian and maybe demand a trip to Toys R Us.

The book is out now.

HAIL!

HAIL! I'm going to Borderlands for the Matt Ruff reading, so I will pick up a copy tonight!
We must have just missed each other!
Hail! I've already bought the Kindlebook and the physical book is shipping soon.

Cheese and cake!
Hail!
CHEESE AND CAKE!!!
CHEESE AND CAKE!!!
Hail! I'll pick up at least one copy at Hastings tonight after I vote, and I'll grab at least one copy at Barnes & Noble some time this week. (One for me, one for the local friends I turned on to the Toby series, and one for non-local friends that I'm trying to get hooked on your books.)
Awesome!
Snagged it this morning, halfway through and LOVING IT ZOMG.
Hooray!
Hail!

Have fun eating Indian and looking for toys!
It was awesome.
Going shopping tonight after work, thus says the magic calendar app.

Decided on my local bookstore instead of making the trip to B&N, they've promised it to me by Friday.
Yay!
I had to ask at B&N, as they hadn't put it out this morning, but... Discount Armageddon is in my house now. Enjoy your book-birth-day! What? It's being released into the world, doesn't that count as birth?
It totally does.

I'm going to stop by my local B&N (Wish I had a local non-chain store to go to but I don't seem to. I do sometimes defer my purchases to the dealers room at conventions just to support an independent seller but I wanted to help your best seller chances.) and pick one or two or three up. I told my husband this plan and now I have a list of books between us to pick up. LOL!
Sometimes supporting your local chain is just as important as your local independents. When Borders folded, we lost a huge amount of market diversity and fair distribution.
Yay, it's finally in stores! :D Congrats! I hope it sells really well, so many people may enjoy your work. I'll wait patiently for my ARC. But CONGRATS! ^^
Thank you!
its new book Tuesday, and your book is on my list for today...
Yay!
leaving for errands = book at 1:30
happy happy happy

it will be this year's official Tax Procrastination Book
Woo!
And in case you haven't seen this--today Ranting Dragon gave Discount Armageddon five stars here.
I saw! I'm thrilled.
Got my copy on the way home. Since there were only chain bookstores within an affordable detour of my commute, I opted for Books-a-Million (because their website said they would not ship preorders until today) and snagged the one copy remaining on the shelves.
Awesome!
I pop-quizzed the info desk at my local Barnes&Noble. The information person knew what it was and where to find it without looking it up. She took me straight to the shelf. Props to her! ... So I have another copy of Discount Armageddon to loan out.

I also picked up A Modern Fae's Guide to Surviving Humanity (also dropped today) while I was at it. The Info-gal did have to go hunting for that one, since they hadn't actually shelved it yet.
That's fantastic!
Happy Book Day! Spawn and I are off to eat and pick up copies, then home to read. There are benefits to the stay-home-spouse gig!
Yay!
I just received my shipment confirmation from Barnes and Noble a few minutes ago, so it looks like it will count on the proper day.
Yay!
I love You.
<3
Hail to the new book!

*does an interpretive dance number with the crackers*
*approves*
Yay, book day! I'll stop by the local brick and mortar and see if I can get copies while Spawn the Elder is in dance class this evening :-)
Most excellent.
Then I will buy extra copies to give as gifts tomorrow after I'm sure the paycheck has cleared :-P. But Spawn the Elder and I will have Book Day copies if I can manage it!!!
Yay!
I was able to download it from my Nook library and start reading at 12:30 this morning.

I was up until two.

And now I want gingerbread, bad.
I know, right?
My ARC copy arrived yesterday, on the day I was scheduled to move out of my house, for the earthquake repairs to finally start, one year and two weeks after the Feb 22 earthquake!!!

So I was too busy all day, but when I finally fell into bed at 11pm ish I read the first 5 chapters and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. So many great lines and lovely snarky humour. Can't wait to get the time to sit down and finish it.

Woo-hoo!
Benefit of ordering the Kindle version: when I checked my email before I got up this morning, I had the email from Amazon thanking me for my purchase, so I read the first couple chapters before I got out of bed. :-) And if it's even *half* as good as I expect it to be, I'll be buying a hardcopy for lending out.

And hey, I hardly use this icon, but this seems like a good place for it!

And it WAS! Oh yay! I hope it sells well, because I really really really want to read the other books you have in mind about the family.

Edit: and I just read the Chuck Wendig interview, and now I have to check out Maverick's.
