From A to Z in the InCryptid Alphabet: Y and Z.

Y is for YEARS AND YEARS.

This is not a job that has an ending. This is not a job where one day, you get a gold watch and a fare-thee-well from the company. This is a job that begins when you realize it needs to be done, and ends when you die. Of the members of the family who have taken up the task of protecting the world's cryptids—five generations on American soil—not one has died a peaceful death. Not one has been allowed to walk away.

There are five graves in Buckley alone, and more waiting to be filled.

This is not a job that has an ending. This is just a job that needs to be done. Remember that, and be sure you understand what you're getting into.

Z is for ZOOLOGY.

Given sufficient time, all cryptozoology becomes zoology. That doesn't mean the work is finished.

But it's a start.

SO excited for this book I cannot even begin to tell you. And flaily arms and ooooh faces don't translate well to LJ.

If I have my way, I will be procuring copies of this for all the women in my wedding party THIS WEEK. As an additional damn gift because it will be the epitome of awesome wedding.

Well, last week I placed an order with the indie bookstore in my town--I think the owner was in when I tried rather than the usual zoned-out dude who works there, so that probably helped. They were all, "Oh, someone else already special ordered this too...don't we normally automatically buy this author? Why is it a special order?"

I don't know when the hell I'll get the book at this point, but at least it should hopefully come out/get shipped at the Right And Proper NYT Time.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the A to Z bits -- they really helped heighten my (already great) excitement for it and totally got me in the mood. I had it preordered for my Kindle, so I was expecting to read it today while I spent several hours flying from central WA to Florida, but my Fire broke on Sunday (insert major whine here). On the upside, amazon is shipping the replacement straight to my hotel, so I will have it tomorrow and now I get to look forward to reading it on Friday when I fly home. Yay!

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait :) Thanks again for the teasers and such -- you totally rock!
