The next short story to be posted.

I have two short stories in the works, one Velveteen-universe, one InCryptid (set after "One Hell of a Ride"). So which one should I finish first?

Have to make this decision wants me to split my personal timeline so I can vote yes to both (but in different universes, of course)! What? Have I been watching Fringe again?

I haven't yet become addicted to InCryptid, but Velveteen vs. is one of my happy places. When the collection comes out in hardcover I'm gonna read it until I have to tape the spine together, old-school. :D

It's very cruel of us to make the poll neck and neck so you still have to make the decision yourself. We might as well have all flipped coins and reported the results en masse (I didn't, but it was close).

Why must you torment us with such impossible decisions! I've got to fall on the side of Incryptid simply because A) it's more recent and B) I really want to know what happens next. Velveteen has less of a temporal imperative at play.

At the rate the poll is going, you may just have to resort to a coin flip. :D

Or put a piece of paper on the floor with each story name on it and the first cat that plops down on one of them first-that is the story you work on. Catorcracy in action. ;)

Incryptid is lovely, but the Incryptid fans have been getting the alphabet essays, and a whole novel VERY SOON. Have pity on us Velveteen fans who don't get a shiny new book to cuddle!

Wow, it was even when I posted...

... and I went with Velveteen, only because I am saving the Incryptid stories to wait me over until I get to a an actual bookstore (weekend of the first week) instead of the day of the release. I always preorder (but didn't this time) and am hoping that the short stories will keep me from fretting. My habits, they are deeply ingrained and hard to deal with when I have to break.

(I have to wait for Discount Armageddon, because I live on the wong side of the world, and even air freight takes time. And I need more InCryptid-universe. So.)
