It's a family affair...

One thing I've tried to make very clear about InCryptid is that it's not the story of Verity Price and how she did lots of neat stuff and maybe saved the world a few times. It's the story of the Price family, and the Healy family, and how they did lots of neat stuff and maybe saved the world a few times. There are lots of stories, many of which happened before the books begin.

Never let it be said that I missed the chance to tell a story.

The InCryptid short fiction page is now live, and features the brand new Jonathan and Frances adventure, "One Hell of a Ride." The story is available for free download in three formats. I'll add information on "The Flower of Arizona" as soon as we have a finalized cover (and will include purchase data for that one, since it's in an anthology).

Welcome to the family tree, and I hope this helps to keep you excited for the upcoming release of Discount Armageddon!

The pdf version of "One Hell of a Ride" has a hiccup: the first 5 paragraphs are duplicated.

Same with the epub, so it's probably the source. The thing I posted on the web site was a lot more minor. But if your going to re spin it.

I think that's one of the things that makes me so excited about incryptid. it's a multi-generational tale, and those make me very happy.

I will admit that since you first announced it I was feeling kind of bitter that Incryptid was taking away my regular Toby book and Tybalt goodness (grrr)

But that story was pretty awesome. Now I'm glad I pre-ordered Discount A.

I didn't think it was possible to be _more_ excited about this new series, but that was an amazing little taste! Thank you very much. I'm so glad there's going to be more. Have there been other Incryptid stories elsewhere I can hunt up?

Eeeee! I read this and made a note to grab it later, because I was waiting for my copy of Westward Weird to arrive so I could read that story. As I was glancing at the comments before moving to the next tab, the UPS guy knocked on my door...with, yep, the package containing Westward Weird! :)

Won't have to save this one for long! :)

i downloaded the story:) can't wait to read it. My library has a copy of westward weird on order which means I don't have to buy it and can buy the incriptid book when it comes out soon:)

ETA: I looked up the Questing Beast in the field guide to refresh my memory of what some idiot with Fran's circus had made the mistake of wanting on display, and all I can say is what kind of !&#$@ idiot says, "You know, we need one of those to display"? Tie that moron up and toss him out for wild Questing Beasts to eat for lunch!
