Tired cat is tired. Have some links.

Tired cat is tired. Have some links in lieu of actual content.

Hey, what's that at #8 on the Barnes and Noble Book Club list of the best paranormal fantasy releases of 2011? Is it Late Eclipses? Why yes, I do believe that it is.

And what's that at #19 on Ranting Dragon's best fantasy releases of 2011? Is it Deadline? Again, yes, I do believe that it is. Both my personalities get the love!

Meanwhile, over at Chicks With Crossbows, there's some Tybalt-hunting funny business going on. Now, I don't know whether I'd go looking for Tybalt, since if I found him, I might also find Toby, and she might be annoyed about me bothering her resident Cait Sidhe monarch, but I'm glad someone took the risk! Totally hysterical.

Oh, and also, what's that appearing on both best of 2011 lists? Toby books and Newsflesh books, oh, my!

And those are today's links. Real content later.

Ha, the first comment is by a friend of mine!

Good year for you, I say. Hope this year is EVEN better. Perhaps all three of your serieses will make lists!
That would rock!

Huzzah for fabulous lists of fabulous books.

Hahaha, CWC continues to be flawless. :D Good to know I am not the only one casually looking for a door to Narnia and a way into a knowe!

I hope you're feeling better today. Perhaps a nap is in order?
Naps were key for the past week!
Seconding the nap suggestion.
When you've been this sick, you have to allow the getting well part to take a while.
Besides, the cats will require a tapering off period, if they've been enjoying a lot of extra recumbent person time.
The cats were not even a little bit amused when I got dressed and left the house this morning.
Yay for good stuff! Also: I like naps.
Last time I was in San Francisco a few years ago, I hadn't heard of your books, so my visit to the Tea Garden was entirely Tybalt and Lily-free (what a shame).
Awwwww.
So I'm curious why the blogger from CWC was surprised nobody thought her Tybalt-hunting was strange. I mean, it's San Francisco after all...it barely qualifies as "mildly unusual" ;-)
Hahaha! Too true. I was mostly joking. Hahaha. I used to live in SF (okay, in the dorms at SFSU but it kind of counts) and I got there all of the time.

I just realized I totally spelled knowe wrong in my post. Duh. That's what I get for writing stuff in airports after a few margaritas. (Thanks for the link, btw.) Don't know what I would have done if I did find him, except probably run away screaming. I may be a fangirl but he's not exactly harmless.

Congrats on both series making all of those lists. Totally deserved.
That's okay. :) And yeah. People always ask "don't you want to meet your characters?", and I'm like "well, I don't know. Do you want me to die horribly?"
I hear that writers hate seeing public acknowledgement of their work.
Seanan must be seething with rage by now.
Heh.
Why did you start using a pseudonym? I'm just curious because isn't it confusing to keep up with two names? And if people know that one name is your pseudonym name (I see it mentioned quite often), is it still useful? Recently I heard a story that a Dutch male author, who was also writing under a female pseudonym, was invited for a prize ceremony with both his own name and his pseudonym name... (unfortunately I'm not sure anymore what his name was >.<)

From Ye Olde FAQ:
Q: Why are you Mira Grant?

A: I wanted a pseudonym for my science fiction because I wanted to create some "distance" between it and my urban fantasy work. Mostly, I wanted people to judge the Mira Grant books on their own merits, not based on how much they read like something they'd expect me to write. I believe this was the right decision, and I've been very happy with my life as Mira Grant.

I hope you feel better! Congrats on all the good things.

Also I came across this link and kept meaning to hunt down your web site contact form but apparently I am officially too lazy to do that so here. >.>

Oh, NEAT.
Way to go! You totally deserve to be on those lists (and all the others).
Thank you!
Hahahahah!!!
("What?")
I just read page 211 of "Late Eclipses".
I just finished "Late Eclipses".
Loved it.

I agree with the people/person at TDF about the Toby's, they just keep getting better with every successive installment.
I'm glad you think so. :)
Congratulations and yay!

(Also...you'd worry about Toby being annoyed if you did that? I'd worry about Tybalt having fun if I did it - that he might find the attempt amusing enough to make some fun with it. In the 'cats play with their food' sort of variety.)
...true, and worrisome.
Excellent!
Yay!
