(Lo, if you choose to be Sexy Red Riding Hood or Smoking Hot Super Grover on this night, I salute you, because you're wearing a costume, and I don't question how other people want to celebrate this night of nights. But if you're doing it because you don't think you have a choice, or because you can't think of anything else, call upon the Great Pumpkin. He's the Squash. He'll hook you up.)
I spent last night with my mother and sister at the Pirates of Emerson Haunted House Park, where we demonstrated that sometimes money can buy happiness, since it was money that got us through the gates, and money that allowed us to spring for Speed Passes, thus bypassing the huge "night before Halloween, let's party at the haunted houses" lines. I also demonstrated my eerie spatial memory by tearing through the corn maze in less than ten minutes, trailed by a cluster of lost-looking thrill-seekers who had been wandering the maze for over an hour before I came through Walking With Purpose. Had I been one of the Children of the Corn trolling for victims, He Who Walks Behind the Rows would have eaten very, very well.
Today, my back is out, and so I'm wearing my Starfleet bathrobe (in Sciences blue) over slouchy jeans and an athletic shirt, representing the few, the proud, the bored Starfleet Academy graduate students. Give me replicator coffee or give me death.
Enjoy this holiday. The walls of the world are thin today, and whether your personal year turns tomorrow or two months from tomorrow, thank you for spending this year here, with me.
Trick or treat.

The last few days of Weather have drastically curtailed my supply of spoons, so I'll probably just don the cats-in-costumes sweatshirt instead of an actual costume for greeting trick-or-treaters.

If I actually get out of bed today and go to my lab like I'm supposed to, I'll be Georgia Mason. I might not, though... getting out of bed seems more challenging by the minute. Tonight, I'm going to be a slightly frantic writer, preparing for NaNoWriMo.

I didn't get to dress up today, because I work in a law office, but I figure I don't need to, I'm a witch every day. :)

And the year I went as a goth faerie, I got mistaken for the boys' big sister. :) Free candy and causing the ex's head to explode? Priceless.

They encourage us to dress up for Halloween here at my workplace, and to bring children around to trick or treat in cube-land. I'm an interstallar hitchhiker (pj's, bathrobe, and the all-important towel). :-)

I'm debating the notion of confusing the trick-or-treaters by greeting them thusly; but I think it's not fair or kind to confuse the little 'uns.
Need to go get some candy to hand out.

We all dressed up in the PT department as witches, save for me. I wore red horns--which in some mythos puts me in charge. Mwaha. Sexy witches, scary witches, homey witches, today we have a variety. With cauldrons of candy on the counters. (Ironically, I'm the only one celebrating the turning of the year per se, and I'm the only one NOT in a witch costume.)

May it bring all good things. May all your projects succeed and leave you time to nap and see your friends.
Also, I second the candy corn rain. Just don't hurt your back carrying it all in, 'k?

Since I'm sick (what kind of witch is allergic to cats AND gets sick on Halloween? This kind, evidently), my "costume" consists of my Happy Bunny pj bottoms and one of the spousebeast's old shirts from when he worked for Ba Da Wings, so I guess I'm dressed like a grad stude3nt, too. ;)
I don't even have candy for the little monsters who will be invading later tonight. :(

Halloween should be a week long. I have so many costume ideas and only one day to wear them in!
Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain!
