Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everybody, and Happy New Year's Eve to those of you who share my particular calendar. May the Great Pumpkin smile upon you tonight, bringing you candles which burn brightly, candy that never goes stale, corn mazes as complicated as the twisting choices of the heart, and costumes that are inventive, interesting, and not solely founded on the idea that "slutty" and "spooky" are one and the same.

(Lo, if you choose to be Sexy Red Riding Hood or Smoking Hot Super Grover on this night, I salute you, because you're wearing a costume, and I don't question how other people want to celebrate this night of nights. But if you're doing it because you don't think you have a choice, or because you can't think of anything else, call upon the Great Pumpkin. He's the Squash. He'll hook you up.)

I spent last night with my mother and sister at the Pirates of Emerson Haunted House Park, where we demonstrated that sometimes money can buy happiness, since it was money that got us through the gates, and money that allowed us to spring for Speed Passes, thus bypassing the huge "night before Halloween, let's party at the haunted houses" lines. I also demonstrated my eerie spatial memory by tearing through the corn maze in less than ten minutes, trailed by a cluster of lost-looking thrill-seekers who had been wandering the maze for over an hour before I came through Walking With Purpose. Had I been one of the Children of the Corn trolling for victims, He Who Walks Behind the Rows would have eaten very, very well.

Today, my back is out, and so I'm wearing my Starfleet bathrobe (in Sciences blue) over slouchy jeans and an athletic shirt, representing the few, the proud, the bored Starfleet Academy graduate students. Give me replicator coffee or give me death.

Enjoy this holiday. The walls of the world are thin today, and whether your personal year turns tomorrow or two months from tomorrow, thank you for spending this year here, with me.

Trick or treat.

Blessed Samhain to you & yours. :-)
Thank you!
Happy Halloween! My celebrations tend toward the baking variety with apple pies and decorating sugar cookies, but I did find a glittery red mask to wear in those venues where it is relevant! (lab, apparently, not being one...) Although I was kicking around wearing one of the old-school Star Trek shirts I got from Kellogg's cereal boxes a couple years ago...I like your idea of donning Star Trek grad student chic for the day!
I'm working on my thesis.

SORCERY!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
May you have a wonderful Samhain. Blessed Be! )O(
Blessed Be.
Happy & blessed Your Favorite Holiday to you! Hope your back pain disappears in a Halloween miracle.

The last few days of Weather have drastically curtailed my supply of spoons, so I'll probably just don the cats-in-costumes sweatshirt instead of an actual costume for greeting trick-or-treaters. stevemb will help out by holding Dorothy while the door's open so she doesn't run out. (Yes, your furry godchild has taken up escapology again, starting a day short of a year since the last time she did it. Apparently, she loves autumn too.)
Zoom goes Dorothy!
Happy Samhain and Halloween!

If I actually get out of bed today and go to my lab like I'm supposed to, I'll be Georgia Mason. I might not, though... getting out of bed seems more challenging by the minute. Tonight, I'm going to be a slightly frantic writer, preparing for NaNoWriMo.
I hope your preparations went well.
Happy Samhain!

I didn't get to dress up today, because I work in a law office, but I figure I don't need to, I'm a witch every day. :)
I love that attitude. I used that for years, especially when the kids were little. It drove my ex NUTS, which made it even better.

And the year I went as a goth faerie, I got mistaken for the boys' big sister. :) Free candy and causing the ex's head to explode? Priceless.

Thank you, and all the same to you.

So mote it be. Lovely Samhain and cat lovings to you, Seanan. I shall send you a photo of Bandit and pumpkins later if I'm not eaten by biochemistry first :). Enjoy!

Yay!
Happy Halloween and good Samhain! I'm dressed up for the day, as usual. This year I'm a concert stagehand. And since I used to *be* a concert stagehand, it's a pretty damn good costume (right down to the flashlight hanging next to the multitool on my belt). It's still my favorite holiday. :-)
Awesome!
Happy Halloween. I'm sad to hear that your back is out, and I hope that when it comes back in, it apologizes to you profusely for going out without leaving a note saying where it was headed.
I hope so, too.
Happy Halloween and a Blessed Samhain!

They encourage us to dress up for Halloween here at my workplace, and to bring children around to trick or treat in cube-land. I'm an interstallar hitchhiker (pj's, bathrobe, and the all-important towel). :-)
Okay, that? Is FANTASTIC.
Happy New Year!
I'm debating the notion of confusing the trick-or-treaters by greeting them thusly; but I think it's not fair or kind to confuse the little 'uns.

Need to go get some candy to hand out.
Yeah, kids just look baffled when you do stuff like that.
Happy New Year. May all the spirits that visit today and tonight be lovely and leave when it's best for all concerned. ;)

We all dressed up in the PT department as witches, save for me. I wore red horns--which in some mythos puts me in charge. Mwaha. Sexy witches, scary witches, homey witches, today we have a variety. With cauldrons of candy on the counters. (Ironically, I'm the only one celebrating the turning of the year per se, and I'm the only one NOT in a witch costume.)
Most excellent.
Happy new year, Bunny!

May it bring all good things. May all your projects succeed and leave you time to nap and see your friends.

Also, I second the candy corn rain. Just don't hurt your back carrying it all in, 'k?
Candy corn FOREVER.
Samhain Blessings to you as well! :D
Yay!
Happy Halloween/Blessed Samhain!

Since I'm sick (what kind of witch is allergic to cats AND gets sick on Halloween? This kind, evidently), my "costume" consists of my Happy Bunny pj bottoms and one of the spousebeast's old shirts from when he worked for Ba Da Wings, so I guess I'm dressed like a grad stude3nt, too. ;)

I don't even have candy for the little monsters who will be invading later tonight. :(
I approve of your grad student costume!
Happy Halloween, oh Pumpkin Princess! May it be filled with friends, fun and WIN!
I hope yours was the same. :)
Thank you for existing in this universe, and for sharing your thoughts and stories and songs with us.
Thanks, darling. I'm so glad I got to see you this year.
Happy Halloween!

I did not know Starfleet bathrobes existed, that is going on the wishlist.
They do, and they're woooooooooonderful.
Happy Candy-mas and a mellow Samhain!
Yay!
Happy Halloween!

Hope your back feels better.
It's getting there.
Happy Hallowe'en to my favorite shoot of the Great Pumpkin. May the candy corn be plentiful and the screams honest.
Awww.

Best blessing.

I am Jedi Master Princess Leia today, in a skirt you can fight in, boots, and the hair buns which my hair is actually long enough to make work this time.

Halloween should be a week long. I have so many costume ideas and only one day to wear them in!

Happy Halloween and Blessed Samhain!
Same!
