One and one is two; two and two are four...

This is me, inchworming into the future. I'm stealing a page from Bear's book, and hoping that a little rolling accountability will make me, if not saner, then at least easier to understand when I start to flail and cry about the ice worms coming out of the wall. ICE WORMS EVERYWHERE.

In other news, Kate and I canceled dinner last night, which turned out to be a good thing, because I have the clingiest clinging cats in Clingycatdonia. They are distraught by my recent travels. I think that if I hadn't come home last night, I'd never be seen again after tonight.

Not everything is on this list yet. Some things aren't announced, some things aren't confirmed, some things may have been forgotten. I expect coherency to come with trial and error.

World Fantasy Convention in Toronto?
Oohh.. I'm gonna have to look into that one! (I like cons that are close enough I can drive to them!)
I'm excited!

No OVFF next year? *makes big sad eyes*
Otoh, we will see each other at Chicon - but still ...
I definitely definitely definitely want to be at OVFF. I just need to get a slightly clearer picture of finances and time before I can commit.

I'm stealing a page from Bear's book

Pooh?
Elizabeth?
Greg?
Elizabeth Bear, and her honeydew lists. :)
Does the italics indicate books vs novellas/short stories?
Yup.
Parasitology
Ooh, a textbook!

In other news...what other authors have THREE BOOKS coming out next year?
All the crazy ones.

The idea of a book by you called Parasitology has just made my day.

Though half of my brain says that I will never sleep again, based on what reading the Fungi did to me.
No, probably not...

As a San Diegan "San Diego 2014" has me intrigued.

And speaking of San Diego, I thought we were holding the World Fantasy Convention, this weekend as a matter of fact.
They are. Y'all have fun.
I'm so excited that you're coming to Seattle for Conflikt in January! But I'm curious: this page suggests that you're coming in December, too, and singing at Geekfest -- but I don't see it on your appearances page, and you haven't mentioned it at all. Is it actually happening? I wondered whether you were all travelled out for the rest of this year.

That's in 2011. This post begins in 2012. See the dates? :)

Any interest in Norwescon over Easter weekend, asks the hopeful assistant programming director?
Right now, I'm not able to commit to anything else that I have to pay for. :( Maybe later in the year, when I know what my finances look like.

Whoops! Fixed.
So much going on, I honestly don't know how you fit it all in.
With difficulty.
Your "to do/forthcoming" lists are essentially my "look! It will be xmas all year long!" lists. :-)

Was "Laughter at the Academy" the piece you read at CONvergence? We very much enjoyed that one, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it.
Yup!
Windycon 39 in November?
Why in the world would I be attending a convention that's very, very far away from where I live, about which nothing has been announced in public? (Seriously. I promise I have lists, but some things have not been said.)
I can't believe I'm going to finally get to see you next summer when you come to Confluence! What sort of tribute is appropriate? ;)

Also, the city is awesome--hope you get at least a little chance to explore it while you're here!
Not stabbing me is a nice start, as tribute goes...
I hope I can see you at Consonance.
I do, too!
I personally did a little happy squee to see more Velveteen stories coming soon! I <3 them a lot. :D

And boy do I wish I could make it to one of those cons... alas, money is proving obnoxiously hard to woo. I hope you have fun, though, even if all the travel's exhausting.
I'd like to sleep more, it's true...
Just remember that unlike people, our pets can't be told "I'm going on a business trip or a vacation but I'll be back in a few days or a couple of weeks." To them, an extended absence means that something's happened to you and you might have died or gotten lost, never to return.
That clinginess is their way of saying we love you and we are so thankful that you made it back home alive and in one piece!
What surprises me is how often people exhibit the same behaviors even though they KNOW you are planning on coming home again!
:]
Yeah, I understand the feline psychology. I just wish it had fewer claws!
Blackout (as Mira Grant), May 2012.

*hyperventilates*

*offers you some Izzy's Pumpkin Ice Cream*
IZZY'S IZZY'S IZZY'S NOM.

I am SO EXCITED about Blackout.
My awe of you knows no boundaries! And I am in particular squee about these:

* Blackout (as Mira Grant), May 2012.
* Ashes of Honor, September 2012.
* "Martinez and Martinez v. Velveteen"
* "Velveteen vs. the Alternate Continuity"
* "Misfit Toys: A Chronicle of the Velveteen War"

(I must say, that last title makes my heart go pitter-pat.)

::does a mad happy dance::
The last may not be what you think it is, and includes no Velveteen vs. characters (science fiction, not superheroes).
