I am very pleased to (somewhat belatedly) announce that I have sold a short story to The Edge of Propinquity, the very same electronic magazine which once upon a time published my Sparrow Hill Road serial (oh, let me tell you about Rose Marshall...). I'm so pleased to be a part of this publication again, even if it's only for a visit, and not for keeps.
So it is without further ado that I tell you to go forth and read about Uncle Sam, the founding of America, why girls go to the bathroom in groups, and how Chinese restaurants can save your life, if you let them.
I'll have you know I thought about this story every time I went to the bathroom this weekend. Thankfully, the pub I was in did have the restrooms where everyone could see you enter.
Wonderful! Of course, I'm neither American nor a woman so I'm immune, but I do wonder what you'd do with some of our British folklore, and /then/ I get worried...
I'm going to be weirded out for the rest of the day now. Thank goodness I live in Australia. Yet ladies still visit the bathroom in groups down here, too.
As if I wasn't afraid of going into public bathrooms enough. Seriously considering on bringing an entourage of female ninjas to escort me to the bathroom next time! That or I'll just hold it in and risk getting a kidney infection (LOL).
Also, the "She had to be peeing?" line made me laugh pretty hard.

Never was the kind of girl to go to the bathroom with an entourage, but then I'm not American.

And the artistry is that you do it so well in just a short story like that. I'm impressed.

For some reason, I want to picture Angela occasionally hanging out in college with the group from The Box.
