Scraps for a sickly Monday.

1. I am sick, yes, even unto death. It's this stupid cold. I've been fighting it off since I got home from Conclave, and then yesterday, it just walked up behind me, hit me over the back of the head with a plank, rifled through my pockets, and took all my stuff. I spent all of Sunday on the couch, sniffling, drinking orange juice, and watching Criminal Minds. Oh, and sleeping. I slept a lot. I feel better today, but that's like saying I'm happier now that the lizard has been removed from my ear. Still miserable, just less lizard-y.

2. Yes, I am watching Criminal Minds. But as I have now seen the first three episodes of the first season, please don't ask me if I was crushed when character A died in season three. I haven't been able to be crushed yet, and I'd like the opportunity to mourn when I get there.

3. Assuming this cold backs the hell off, I am still going to be at OVFF this coming weekend. If you're waiting for a shirt from me, and are going to be at the convention, please let me know so that I can package your order for hand-delivery. If you don't tell me, clearly, that you'll be there, your shirt will not be coming with me. I don't have the suitcase space for guesses.

4. I am about 4,000 words from the end of Ashes of Honor, which is good, since I expect to receive my Blackout page proofs any day, and need to be able to focus on going through and writing STET a lot. ("STET" is editorial for "no, do not make this change." I use it to argue against people who don't believe in the Oxford comma, and people who try to standardize my use of "Miss" to "Ms.")

5. I am too sick for a list of ten. Now is when I fall on my face and die.

Catch you when I wake up.

But... "Miss" and "Ms." are completely different things. They're not even pronounced the same way. Also, Oxford commas are a bastion of civilization.
Yes, exactly! I don't understand why Oxford commas even became an issue; they add precision and visual continuity to writing. (I tried to come up with a third thing so I could use commas, but I didn't have enough time free to devote to the matter; I'm on a quest for my sister's textbook for her evening accounting class. Yay, education!)

I hope you're better soon. I assume amnesty on comments since you are ill.

This is the first use of my spiffy new android tablet, Motorola Xoom. I'm a freelance too - now I should return to my work.
Woo!
Hugs, feel better, amazing writer!
Thank you. :)

They opted for "all of the above." Because they are cats.
*cuddles you and gives you juice for the further delizardification of you*

I will be at OVFF and I have two shirts in the queue. If they are not in your suitcase I will continue to adore you and feed you juice and pumpkin-based foods*
Your shirts are packed!
You're due - everyone I know who has been going balls-out like you have this year are down for the count right now.

Me? This is me staying the heck away. I've got a week in Hawaii coming up. I will BITE anyone who makes me sick ahead of that.

I also sleep nights, take vitamins daily and it's known to Coyote I'm always good for uneaten chicken nuggets, fresh fruit and other things the kid won't eat. So far, this year? It's working. *knocks wood*

Work as you must, but rest rest rest. Nothing else fixes sicks like it - I've tried. (Feel better soon.)
I am resting.

Feel better sweetie. I hope that I'll be picking you up on Friday; let me know if the worse comes to worst.
Right now, odds point to Ohio.
Feel better soon, hon! Mrs. Grass soup with cayenne added helps me. EmergenC, too. Cuddle the kitties and get well!
Thank you!
Feel better!
Thank you!
Boo sickness. Yay Criminal Minds.
Agreed, on both points.
Delurking to say: Colds suck! Hope you'll feel better soon!
Thank you!
Hope you're feeling better!
Thank you!
I love Criminal Minds. I love the understated acting, and it's oddly mellowing. I have strange comfort food.

Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you!

*wishes good health to come find you*

Edit: Pony Superheroes? http://www.nodicecomic.com/?p=735 = Justice League of Equestria. Wonder Pony looks somewhat... miffed.
Wouldn't you?

i just started watching criminal minds a few weeks ago. i've been pretty much procedural'd out for a while, but i'm really liking the characters and their development.
Me, too.
I hope you feel better soon! And I hope you enjoy Criminal Minds a lot- I assume you're aware of matociquala's commentaries on them that start mid-season two (I think). I feel like those have added a lot to my enjoyment of the show, which was pretty much my favourite already.
I am excited for reaching the point where her recaps start!

Seanan! I didn't know you were sick! I would have made you stay home and rest instead of standing in that stupid line! **hugs** Get better soon, love.
The line was right next to the train station!

I live by the Oxford comma. How can anyone make sense of a list without it?

And I hope you feel a lot better soon.

Thank you.
If you're waiting for a shirt from me, and are going to be at the convention, please let me know so that I can package your order for hand-delivery.

I won't be at OVFF but my friend Betsey Langan (aka Jerusha) will be and has graciously agreed to serve as transport for said shirts. My real name is Angela Karash and I ordered 4 shirts.

Dear lass, I am more certain than ever that someone at the CDC reads and enjoys your Mira Grant novels:

http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombies_novella.htm

Emergency preparedness, zombie-apocalypse style, mark II.
Hee hee hee.
I am just sending good thoughts and hoping you feel better soon.
Thanks, honey.
Feel better!!
Thank you!
Oh hon, please feel better!!!

And if you haven't mailed them yet, I'm fine if you'd rather deliver my posters in person at OVFF. But only if it's easier than mailing!! You can just reimburse me the shipping if we go that route.

I know you don't have a lot of time to rest and take it easy so while I hope you make it to the con, please make the decision also based on keeping your body (and sanity) where it needs to be to be okay. Whatever you need to do to stay healthy. *hugs*
I think I'm going to be there; I'll assess suitcase space in re: posters. The refund would be $3, since the poster tubes cost $2, but that's no big deal.
So sorry that you are sick! Lots of Vitamin C and chicken/turkey soup (I make mine with lots of garlic, I think that scares the germs away! I've got some frozen but I don't think it would ship well through the mail. I hope you have someone who will make you some, though.) and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Thank you.
Feel better soon. Colds suck at anytime, but one for you during your favourite time of year; Halloween, is just not good at all.
One of my mother's pet peeves was receiving mail addressed to Ms or being asked if she was a Ms. She was a Mrs and happily let everyone know so, before she was married she was a Miss and strongly objected to being made into a Ms. I know it sounds weird and maybe I'm really old fashioned, but I like the word Miss, it has a certain ring to it, an elegance that Ms doesn't.
Agreed, on all counts.
