I am so crazy excited about my new book, and my new series. I mean, of course, Discount Armageddon, the book that kicks off the InCryptid series. Well. Excited and scared. But things like this help with the fear a little bit. You wanna see something really pretty?

The cover artist is Aly Fell, who has the right mix of sexy, sweet, strange, and hysterically bizarre (and was actually my choice, thus proving that sometimes, you can have your cheesecake and eat it, too).
Totally insane. I think I love it. Although, honestly? If I didn't know what the series was about, i wouldn't pick it up. I avoid "hot chick with weapons" covers like the PLAGUE. Though this one is cheeky enough to at least get me to read the back, at which point I suspect you'd have me...
It occasionally strikes me that absolutely nothing Seanan writes (except maybe short stories like A Citizen In Childhood's Country, I love me some fairy tale riffs) is in genres that I would normally read (especially Newsflesh). It's kind of an odd thought. Perhaps I should expand my comfort zone out of straight fantasy. Or perhaps Seanan is just awesome.
