Wicked Girls shirt update.

Here's the sitch:

It took us a LOT longer than expected to track down payment from everyone, and some people still haven't made good on their orders. These orders will be canceled as of Sunday, so that I can proceed with submitting the spreadsheet to the T-shirt manufacturers. I don't know how long printing will take, but will let you know once I have an estimate.

After shirts exist, they'll need to be shipped. This is going to mean a MASSIVE shipping party, probably at my house; volunteers will be solicited. Because we'll be doing it all by hand, I expect that mailing everything may take two to three weeks. Again, I'll keep you posted.

But that's the situation. Next time I do something like this, I may require payment immediately, to prevent a few absences from delaying the whole field trip.

Shirts!

's all good!

"The shirts, they will be here when they get here."

AND THEY WILL BE GLORIOUS
People are asking, so it seemed like time for an update.
If/when you do this again, payment with order is definitely the way to go, if only to reduce the headaches for you and whoever's helping you.

No worries about the delay. It will be here in the fullness of time.
I just wish people had been as prompt to pay as they were to order. It would have been so much easier...

Thank for the update, and thanks for doing this in the first place.
Thanks for the update! I wasn't asking, because I figured a) you hadn't forgotten and b) other people already were!

I look forward to my shirt no matter how long it takes :)
I'm taking my sister's approach. See, when a game's coming out that she wants, she orders it and pre-pays. She says it's a present to future-her. So that's what this is: a present to future-me. And whenever it gets here, that future-me is going to be excited about it, so present-me isn't fussed about when that's going to be.

What are these shirts and how can I potentially get in on it? haha. If you may be cancelling some orders, would it be too late to jump in if I wants one and can pay promptly as soon as you tell me how?

I hate being a latecomer. XD
This is the original shirt post.

I have no idea if she'd let you be a latie lacy ;)

Yay shirts, looking forward to it!

I really appreciate the effort you and all your volunteers have put into this!

I appreciate it, and I'm sure Deborah does, too. :)

Is it still possible to order them? I'd like one, and I just got paid, so I can deffinitely afford to pay for it. :P
Hello - if you'll check out Seanan's original post, and then reply to this comment as per her instructions, I'll be happy to invoice you.

I am only concerned because I'm moving from Phoenix to Portland in three weeks and I do not yet have a forwarding address. Shame on people and their slow payments.
And that is a TOTALLY valid reason to be concerned. I honestly don't expect to be mailing shirts inside the next three weeks; you'll have time to get us the address.

Thanks for the update. A shame about the flakes, since you did say to stash the money upon order. *sigh*

See you in a couple of weeks, if not sooner!
Yeah, I'm...vexed.
No worries. This is a pretty massive undertaking and you are a human being with a life. This was not a business undertaking but something nice you were doing for your fans. If I lived even remotely nearby I would volunteer to help with the shipping party.

And add my vote for payment with order next time.

Personally, I'll expect my shirt when you can get it here and not before.
The main issue with pay-with-order is refunds. Since if we didn't get enough orders to go to press, I'd need to give the money back...and PayPal charges a fee every time the money is sent (I don't receive $20 when you send it to me, so do I refund you what I got, or what you sent?).

Please let me know how we can help with the shipping party. I'm happy to pack and label and such. We can also print shipping labels and such if needed.
I am better with the packing/labeling than I am with the printing, but am willing to help with the shipping party if you need extra hands.
(no full-time job + grad school just-finished = time to volunteer.)

I also think pay when ordering (once order was confirmed) is the best choice for your sanity.

Thank you for doing this, though. I am looking forward to wearing this shirt with pride.
Yay. :)
I'm in no hurry, there's still at least 3 months of t-shirt weather left around here :)
Yay!
I'm wondering whether or not one of the "pay now, fund later" things ala KickStarter could be modified to handle this kind of thing, so people commit when they order but you don't have to handle refunds if the order count is insufficient to go forward. The KickStarter model isn't quite right for "order any number of t-shirts" or the pricing, tho.
Sadly, no.
Good things come to those who wait. I think payment on order is entirely reasonable for next time (whatever that might be for).
I continue to adore your icon.
Hooray for shirts. I wish I could be there for the shipping party, but I expect you will have some of your legion of volunteers, western division.

<3
THANK THE GREAT PUMPKIN.
Thanks again for doing these-they will be wonderful.Paying up front is also perfectly fine.
Yay.
If only I could afford to pay up front, I'd say it would be a good idea, but...on welfare, here, so I have to save for this stuff, so some warning is necessary. But if I can meet the damn order, other people ought to be able to do it.
And this is why no system is perfect. :( It's just driving me batty that people who don't have that very valid reason are being so damn slow to pay, because it really is holding everyone up at this point.
If orders are still being taken, I'd like 1, black, 4xl. This is a Christmas pressie so as long as it get's here before December 25th, I'm good! ;-) Email at my LJ, mickanick @ livejournal . com.

Thanks
Please see Seanan's original post and let me know what style shirt you would like.

Yay!! (I wasn't asking because I figured it'd happen when it happened.)

Thank you so much for your hard work on this - and I can happily tell you that the Canadian postal strike has been over for a while now, and mail can go through per usual. :)
Yay!
Yay! Been keeping an eye on your blog for this good news. A pox on those who haven't made good. How rude! Wish I could come help with the shipping party, but I don't quite have the funds to fly down for the festivities. *sigh* Once again, an opportunity to love on your yetis passes me by.
The yetis ARE lovers, it's true.
. . . but I'm going to see you in October, anyway. If you have room for my two in your suitcase, you're welcome to just bring them then.
Oooooh, no. The "I can hand-deliver some CDs" thing was a nightmare, which is why everyone has to pay postage. But thank you for the offer.
They look wonderful. I wish I'd been in time to get one.
