Happy birthday, Thomas!

Today is Thomas's first birthday! Yes. One year ago precisely, Thomas Price Lynn Rhymer Taylor McGuire was unleashed upon the world by Betsy Tinney at Pinecoon Maine Coons, who was kind enough to then let him come and live with me. In honor of his birthday, Thomas has been brushed, cooed over, given treats, and didn't get yelled at for sleeping on the counter.

And now...pictures.

This is Thomas, right after I brought him home from Seattle. So he was about four months old, full of curiosity and twitching. Such a sweet boy.

Thomas promptly began to fit into our lovely Halloween world, displaying a good eye for lighting, and a fondness for orange things. He's about six months old here.

Long cat...is very, very long. Seven months old, and having the first of the really major, disturbing, "weren't you smaller when I left for work this morning?" growth spurts.

This picture was taken yesterday. That tree is sized to full-grown, large cats. Note how much of it Thomas fills. I live with the Yeti.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yay, kitten pictures! Such a big, lovely boy, and he's not done yet!

Is Alice full-grown?
Not for at least another year.

There is something about a Maine Coon that reduces me to incoherent urble-burble noises and some sort of a high pitched squeeing noise that could probably be weaponized.

And a fortunate day to be born, too (I am biased; my favorite aunt's son was born a year ago today too. It was clearly a day for happy arrivals.)

Happy birthday to Thomas! Such a handsome fellow. :)
That's because Maine Coons are AWESOME.
I love that last photo. It looks so fake, but it's not. XD
I know, right?
He looks so much like my Duke! Except mine is a mix with no tail, but the face is the same, down to the white eyeliner.
Alice also has eyeliner.
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

kitty smooches!!!

PURTY KITTY (and he SO knows it!!)

pity you live on the opposite coast, else I'd so volunteer to kitty-sit!!
He would promptly seduce you, as he has seduced all else. Boy gets so many treats...
I laughed at the third picture. So funny!

I <3 your cats. And my cats and cats in general. Yours are a joy to hear about and see pictures of. Especially the bath stories, those are pretty awesome.

Thanks for taking the time to post photos! *recently spent 2-3 hours attempting to post a photo-blog*

How do you have room to sleep on your bed? (Assuming they sleep with you. One of mine does, and she's an average-sized cat and still takes up more than half the bed at times--a FULL sized bed, mind you. I suspect I'd have a harder time sleeping if they went to school with me and shared my twin-sized bed. Likely I'd be on the floor.)
I really don't. I shove them a lot.
Large kitten is LARGE now! :-)

I love the long stretched-out shot. Pretty boy!
He is loooooooong.

I don't mind at all. Be aware that Pinecoon is a very small cattery at this point, so you may have to wait a while, but if they'll also give referrals if they don't mesh with your timeline.

Aw, what a fuzzball.
He is my good boy.
Da paaaaaaawwwwss!
They are huge, it is true.
Is it sad I immediately started squinting at your bookcase rather than the cat (who is a handsome devil, btw)? I recognize quite a few of those titles, and I think it's really cute that your own books are just stuck in the mix with everyone else "see, just regular books, nothing to see here."

I'd probably have given them a slightly more prominent shelf at least (or a box in the back of the cupboard depending on how I felt about them).

*squints harder* Ok, alphabetization almost justifies it. One of these days I'll have enough shelves I won't have to double-stack PBs and I can do that too. :-P
*laughs* You're not the only one who did. I alphabetise, too. I'm so glad that the cat with whom I'm currently living is not a shelf-climber...

Happy birthday, young man! (says Heidi, our just-possibly purebred MC rescue)
Hi, Heidi!
Ya mean...my little mix breed...might keep growing????

He's a year an a few months and already gaining on my 38 pound half wild cat. I still say Hexx, the 38 ponder, is above amplification safety levels. And he already wants to eat any stranger he sees.)

Happy bday Thomas. You haz many fans!
It's very possible!
Awwww, happy birthday to Thomas!

He looks like my baby.
What a pretty kitty!
Sending many cat treats in his direction!
Yay!
What a handsome boy! No wonder you're proud! Happy birthday, Thomas!
Betsy breeds good cats.
Awesome cat is awesome.
Yes, he is. Very awesome.
Oh, he's beautiful. Happy Birthday, Thomas!
He thanks you. Fuzzily.
