ONE SALT SEA photo voting time!

Well, it's time; time to vote. Five entries have been selected by the random number generator, and five entries have been selected by me. Now it's in your hands. Choose your favorite, shill for your favorite, whatever works for you. The poll will remain open until Friday afternoon, at which point I will announce who gets an ARC of their very own.

Game on!

I had to vote for the last one, it's just amazing, but I want to give thumbs up to the first, with the dolls, and "feline book club," because that last picture is so adorable.
Risu is too cute for her own good, really. Her solution to EVERYTHING is to be cute at it until it complies. I didn't realize how extreme a view she took of this strategy until I saw her give up on mewing at a closed door, then roll over and present her fluffy belly to it.
*melts all over everything*

How can you bear the adorability? Is there a high-pressure suit that enables you to keep from 'sploding?
You build up an immunity over time. It's no good when she finds new ways to be cute, which is when my natural cynicism shields me JUST enough so I survive the encounter.

So long as I keep in mind that she's only being cute to get something, I'm relatively safe. It does mean that she usually gets what she's after, but I consider it worth the cost, in most cases, because I get to be entertained by how very cute she is. So when she puts up her paws to be picked up, like a toddler reaching for his mom, I know it's just because she wants a treat. But I feel so loved and wanted when she does it that I can't resist. And when she hops onto the sink and sniffs the faucet, I know she wants me to turn on the water so she'll have a fresh stream to drink from, and it's worth it to wait to wash my hands until she's done because she gets so cutely annoyed when water drips on her head.

Plus, it reminds me of this video, from before she'd figured out the whole drinking from the sink thing.
This is frequenly my solution to things as well...
Hey, if it works, why knock it?
Did the door immediately swing open?
It did not, so she tried rolling around on the floor a little more, until I realized what she was doing and burst out laughing. Then her pride was injured, and she had to sulk under the bed until she forgot what she was mad about, which took about 30 seconds.

She's not big in the brains department. She's lucky she's so cute.
