Hope you brought your water wings. There's an undertow.

Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of One Salt Sea, the fifth book in the October Daye series. Today seems like a good day to open the contest, being as it's the summer solstice and all. Longest day of the year means free stuff for somebody! So...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

1) Leave a comment on this entry. Leave it as a comment on the entry, please, not on someone else's comment. Comments left on other comments cannot win.

2) That's all.

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I will choose a winner at 2PM PST on Friday, June 24th.

Game on!

ETA: Y'all, please remember that I won't answer questions posed on a random number giveaway post. It messes up my ability to cleanly locate a winner, and that just makes things frustrating for everyone.

I'm quite excited for One Salt Sea even though I've only recently started reading Rosemary & Rue. I'm enjoying the world immensely and can't wait to read the rest.
Looking forward to reading book 5! =)
I'm a new reader of your books, but I faithfully read Sparrow Hill monthly last year. I'm so glad I found out about your works from Sooj and the Memphis pagans I hang out with. Happy Summer Solstice!
Here's hoping elebenty-seven-twelve is my lucky number!
Excite! (...I really need to actually read Late Eclipses. I hadn't been because my partner in England had my copies of the first three and I wanted to reread them first, but they're back now, so I just need to stop forgetting to read them!)
I own all four of the Toby books already out, but have only read two of them, because I want to savor them for as long as possible. At some point soon, though, I'll break down and read the other two at lightning speed. When I'm done, I know I'll want the next one, so I figured this is worth a shot.
I just finished rereading all four Toby books, and I'm delighted and thrilled with how you've built up the character, with all the hints you've dropped as to things to come, and I cannot wait to see what's next. :)
Yay! new book.
Quite excited to see any book by you as I've liked everything you've written to date. Also will be very interesting to see how you deal with mermaids in general as I have yet to read a book that's dealt with them in a compelling manner. Other then that my only concern for this book is how you deal with Toby's power up in the previous novel as her being stronger could really break the very nice dynamic you had in the previous novels...Still will be interesting to see.

I'm also waiting for the inevitable reconnection with her daughter once she gets in trouble in some way or if she seeks her out and that will be an interesting bit to see especially with her 'twin' hanging around at the same time.

Anyway do hope I've got a chance as this is my favorite reoccurring series currently being published and I've yet to win anything nice frankly ever, and I've also been a good little salesman for your books giving away six copies for Christmas just this last year making them buy more books by you :). Also I have a cat for my twitter picture this has to earn props with you right?

Scattered leaves and rowan trees
Please give an ARC to me.
Why I want to win a copy: So my next "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" report for teacher can be more interesting than the conspiracy theory update on how macabre movies hosted by Elvira keep the masses under statist control.
I'm excited because Toby's world is awesome, and because you wrote it and you're awesome!
Yayyyy!!!!

Why I'd like an ARC:
1. 'Cos I've never had one before!
2. ...and your books are cool!!
3. ...and at the rate I'm going I'll have finished "Late Eclipses" by Friday and that's just not enough track for me to slow down on before I hit the buffers!!! HEEEELP!!!!

=:o>
I am leaving a comment.
Gosh, I need to bribe the random number generator. Seriously. Because I need a copy like /what/.

I am beyond hooked, having now gotten through the four 3 or 4 times. I have no idea where to begin why I'm excited, so I'll just leave it there. And point out to the RNG gods that I am very liberal with libations of high quality rhum when I get what I want.
I am unsure whether it is even possible for me to love Tybalt more than a I already do, so I look forward to reading this book and finding out. I am excited for this book...for science!
I am insanely excited to read and review One Salt Sea!!!!
A ray of sunlight in an otherwise busy morning of finding my car dead, jumping thru AAA, finding out it's the alternator, driving my dad to his first doctor's appointment, leaving it running then driving back to the mechanic, going to get the rental car, pick him back up at the mechanic's waiting room, going to BK for lunch then to another doctor's appointment then got some Del's Lemonade and now home.

This tops off last week when the car died in the parking lot of local supermarket due to the instrament cluster going TU and thinking the airbags deployed and halted the car from working.

Since I read the first four Toby Daye books in less than a week, I've been jonesing and craving the fifth like nobody's business. Thanks for the opportunity to win an ARC of the new one--it will be well appreciated. :D
I'm so curious on where Toby is going next since she's moving up in the Faerie world.
