Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of One Salt Sea, the fifth book in the October Daye series. Today seems like a good day to open the contest, being as it's the summer solstice and all. Longest day of the year means free stuff for somebody! So...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I am excited for this book because Henry V is thoroughly underwhelming when compared to, say, Richard II (sorry, it's true), so I'm excited to have a reason to reread Henry V before One Salt Sea's publication, so I can mine unnecessarily deep in the Henry V text for possible clues about Toby's newest adventures. :D

I am super excited about meeting the new characters you described in the teaser in the back of Late Eclipses. They seem awesome. Also I have a hunch about something that I want to see play out, or not.

One of the many reasons why I'm looking forward to this book: because it seems very likely that Tybalt will either

(a) get wet in cat form, which is likely to be hilarious;

(b) shirtless in human form, which is likely to be hot; or

(c) both. (Please.)

I've been dying to read One Salt Sea since I read Late Eclipses. I can't wait to see what ~~torture~~ Toby gets to go through this book. Whatever it is, it will be entertaining, and even better than the last one, if past books are any indication.

The October Daye novels are my fav UF series. I'm bummed that there will only be one new Toby novel in 2012 instead of two. Maybe the books can be twice as long? ;)

I've loved every Toby book so far and they've gotten better and better...so that's why I'm excited to read this one!

Plus, I'm at an intensive writing workshop right now and winning a book from someone who's become one of my favorite authors would be such a boost.

Oh my, One Salt Sea ARC!...YEAH! Within the last two years I have become obsessed with the October Daye series. The journey that Toby has gone on is amazing. The difficulties that she has had to confront and the triupmhs that have come from them are truly inspiring. I guess that is what I most look forward to in this next book, the struggles that Toby will have to look straight in the face and how she is going to deal with them.

It is my greatest hope that an ARC of One Salt Sea might hop my way :D
