Hope you brought your water wings. There's an undertow.

Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of One Salt Sea, the fifth book in the October Daye series. Today seems like a good day to open the contest, being as it's the summer solstice and all. Longest day of the year means free stuff for somebody! So...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

1) Leave a comment on this entry. Leave it as a comment on the entry, please, not on someone else's comment. Comments left on other comments cannot win.

2) That's all.

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I will choose a winner at 2PM PST on Friday, June 24th.

Game on!

ETA: Y'all, please remember that I won't answer questions posed on a random number giveaway post. It messes up my ability to cleanly locate a winner, and that just makes things frustrating for everyone.

So I keep meaning to ask - what's with all the Rose owls? I googled and couldn't find said bird
Come on! Give me a winner! I want book NOW!
I am excited on general principles; new Toby is always a Good Thing. Also, Toby with new status and attendant responsibilities, the consequences of which are likely to be profoundly amusing and entertaining (even if she doesn't think so herself).

All hail the random number generator!
my boyfriend got me addicted to the Toby Daye series. I am thoroughly anticipating the next book. I'd love to get this. Anxiously awaiting more details on Toby's adventures! :)
I am so geeked for Toby to start cracking "Little Mermaid" jokes.
Squee!
I am very excited about the next Toby book and would love the chance to read it early! Usually, random number generators do not love me, but we'll give it a shot anyway. ;)
I'm excited about this book because I want to see Toby learning to accommodate her power, and I want to know whether Connor is a stronger and more confident being in his own sea homeland.
Comment
I'm in! *makes mental note to pick up the rest of the series*
Oh! yes, please!!!!
Hooray for ARCs and new Toby books!
Hoping the random number gods are on my side
Commenting for the book :) ::Crosses fingers::
Comment, comment, comment, this is a comment.

I am excited about One Salt Sea because I really, really, really like the style of one Sir October Daye. Spending a book in her head is something I very much enjoy.

Also, I heard a rumor that you actually TESTED OUT the luggage-cart race in the preview. True/false/cannot confirm for legal reasons?

Dear RNG: Pick Me! Pick Me!

Why am I excited?
Ummm... MERMAID WTF?

These books are absolutely incredible. I always knew you were good, but what's coming out is in fact superb. Pretty much every hundred pages is a "Wait, what? Did she seriously... WHAT???" moment.

I can't stop...
I'm super excited for the next book! I think what I'm most looking forward to reading is how Toby handles her power, what happens between her and Tybalt, and what Quentin and May get up to.
Magic number thing don't fail me now!
Someone just asked me this morning if I had read the newest Toby book. I told her the newest one wasn't out yet ;) ... but that I had read everything currently available.
I am so excited to read this book!

We've got the kiddo reading the Toby books, too. She was already a huge fan of your music (listening to ten-year-old sing the Black Death song = instant hilarity). She finished _Rosemary and Rue_ yesterday and has started on _A Local Habitation_.
I beseech thee to be kind.
Totally looking forward to One Salt Sea!
I've been a huge fan of this series since my mom introduced me to it and I can't wait to see what trouble Toby gets into (and hopefully out of) this time!
Yay!!! another Toby book :)
