Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of One Salt Sea, the fifth book in the October Daye series. Today seems like a good day to open the contest, being as it's the summer solstice and all. Longest day of the year means free stuff for somebody! So...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I'm excited about One Salt Sea because even though I haven't actually read any of the October Daye books, the description on Amazon still sounds pretty awesome even though I'm not at all familiar with the characters. Also, the cover is gorgeous.

Wow. It really hasn't EVER picked some who asked to be picked? That is cruel. Perhaps if I act all nonchalant it will pick.
So... Yeah, whatever...

I am honestly super excited to read a new Toby adventure considering that she has been tipped further towards being fully Amandine's daughter. I have really enjoyed the growth of both her and the world itself. Thanks for all your hard work.

I am excited because "Yay, need new Toby!" and because it will make my 12 year old stop asking "How long until the next Toby book again?"

I absolutely LOVED Late Eclipses. Many things began falling into place on the twisty twisty plot paths. Can't wait to see where those lead in this installment!

Random. Random numbers are good. I have been loving your work from the first time I heard you sing, which was your OVFF concert a few years back. Fell in love with your singing, your songwriting, then your poetry, and now? Now, the fact that I get to help proofread your work, to do my small part to help with bringing your amazing writing talent to the world, makes me feel awesome.
