Hope you brought your water wings. There's an undertow.

Yes, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for: the moment where I give away the first ARC of One Salt Sea, the fifth book in the October Daye series. Today seems like a good day to open the contest, being as it's the summer solstice and all. Longest day of the year means free stuff for somebody! So...

Who wants to win an ARC? About what I figured. I'll have some more effort-intensive contests in a little bit, but first up, it's our old favorite, the random drawing. To enter, please do the following:

Please don't comment going "pick me, pick me," if you could be so kind. I don't pick anyone. The random number generator picks the winner, and it is a cruel mistress which has never yet picked a comment containing "pick me." Instead, why not tell me why you're excited about this book? I'd really love to know.

I'm excited to see what happens next. I'm hoping for more of Quentin and to see some magical smackdown. As much as i enjoy Toby running someone through with a knife, i'd be much more interested in seeing her make someone bleed from every orifice of their body and *then* a coup de grace at the end.

Just saying.

I am excited about this book - because I read the sample chapter at the end of the last book. When it got to the bit about the wheelchair careening down the hill, my shrieks of excited laughter caught my partners' attention all the way downstairs. I just know the rest of this is going to be fun.

I'm a book behind in the series. It's very popular at the library here and I've been on the waiting list forever for Late Eclipses since it came out last year. :)

I'm looking forward to reading both books because I am in love with your storytelling and with Toby's journey. I can't wait to see where the storylines are going to head.

I'm dying to know exactly what the developments at the end of Book #4 are going to mean for Toby, and particularly how they may or may not impact a possible reunion with her daughter.

Also: Finn wants the book NAO, so I'll sit still and let him sleep on me while I read. It's so hard to deny that wonky little face anything, y'know? Heh.

Mmm. I want to read about mermaid fae, and maybe more about selkies...and find out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT a little sooner, before I buy the book anyway!

I may need the cover of this book as a poster.

Why is it that when you don't have access to your email (I.e. you're at work and not allowed), you can't remember your password? ...and then when you DO have access, you forget you wanted to log in and comment. *sigh* Maybe it's just me.
On the bright side, not only did I remember to come comment here this evening, I even remembered my password! On the FIRST try. Go me?
Anywhoodle, I sure hope the gods of random are feeling sympathy for me...I'd REALLY love to win One Salt Sea! :)

I am so excited about one salt sea!! I'm hoping this is the book where toby and tybalt get down and dirty or at least just admit how much the like(love?) Each other!! Can't wait! I cannot wait for the next Toby book for multiple reasons! October is the best month of the year (yes, my birthday is in October), Toby is my favorite new character find of the year (I recently discovered, and quickly devoured, all the Toby books in the last two months), and I am telling all my friends with similar reading tastes to pick up Rosemary and Rue ASAP! Whoever wins this ARC will be a lucky person indeed - here's hoping it might be me! *prays to the cruel random number generator goddess*

I am really looking forward to this book. I have fallen totally in love with this series. Something I have not done since Kim Harrison's Hollows series. I find all the characters from major ones like Toby and Tybalt to supporting ones such as Sylvester and Maye to be wonderfully multi faceted. I eagarly await more tales and to see what fix Toby gets into next.
