Monday morning administravia and such.

1. Deborah (the Lovely Assistant for the Wicked Girls shirt project) is now contacting anyone whose payment hasn't been received via LJ comment, in an effort to give folks every possible chance to complete their order before we go to press. Remember, this is a limited-run thing, so we're not making more shirts than have been paid for, at least not for general sale (I may make and squirrel away a few extras, but that isn't going to help you if you haven't checked your email for her payment request). So if you're still trying to complete your order, please do so ASAP.

2. Speaking of completing things...my LJ comments got a little bit away from me, with over 600 waiting in the queue at one point. I've managed to peck and pick them down to 74 comments in need of answers, and I'm going to be trying to get to all of those this week. If you left me a comment and didn't hear back, and you thought I was ignoring you, I wasn't. (This applies to first comments only; I don't reply to all replies, I would lose my mind. Also remember that I declared amnesty for all comments left on the countdown, and will not be answering those.)

3. I am still waiting to hear back from all winners in Friday's Deadline drawing. Specifically, I have not yet heard back from irish_ais. If I do not hear from you by 5PM PST tonight, I will be choosing a new winner. Sorry about that.

4. I'm going to be doing my first giveaway of an ARC of One Salt Sea (Toby Daye #5) later this week. Watch this space for details.

5. Here is a lovely interview with Elizabeth McClellan which mentions, among other things, "Wicked Girls," Sooj, Amal's splendid Honey Month, and Cat Valente. Go, read, be delighted.

That's all for right now. What's new with you?

So many awesome things going on!

New with me? Got a nice tan this weekend being outside trying my hand at Autocross! Had a blast!

Yay!
Just switched to a standing workstation at the day job, for my health. We’re in an open-plan office, so this is done using cinderblocks rather than just raising the desk in your cube. Since I am rather cautious about engineering matters, I brought in twelve cinderblocks and lashed them together in groups of three to minimize the likelihood of toppling in an earthquake or if someone tripped into the desk. Of course, people were inquiring about why I had so many cinderblocks. My answer: “Either I’m building a standing workstation or a Stonehenge replica to honor my ancient Druidical beliefs.”
...I choose to believe the latter.

Because the latter is AWESOME.

Am considering risking a week of screaming nightmares based on some book reviews.

See, for some reason, certain things give me utter night terrors, waking up screaming, all of it. One of those things...

....is zombies.

But with all the reviews of the two books, including those by Howard Tayler (whose comic I enjoy and generally agree with on movie reviews), I'm starting to think that for some good reads I might be willing to risk it. Will have to clear it with my roommates, though.

(and no, I don't remember the dreams so I don't know what they're like, just that I wake up with a scream, and at one point I had one that made me think someone was banging on the front door until I realized, no, that was my heartbeat...)
Tell your roommates they should totally let you.

Really.
I honestly don't know how you do it all. I thought I was good at packing a lot into life.

Me? I'm flathunting up north for my new job. And spent the afternoon in the gym while I finished Deadline. Now I'm hiding the book so I don't cave and read the first chapter of Blackout.

Hope you're managing to get some sleep with all of this!
I slept like the dead yesterday night.

LIKE THE DEAD.

My publishing house is bumping me up to a major editor instead of a minor editor on one of the projects we just received! I am INSANELY excited to be moving up in the editor world! :D

Prooooooooobably not.
Ooooh, exciting things!

New here - one of my authors, Susan Jane Bigelow, got a mention as an Honorable Mention Best Book So Far in 2011 on Book Smugglers. She emailed me, giddy as hell, partially because she made the same list you did. It was awesomesauce.
YAY!
The Small Monster featured in my icon cornered a chipmunk behind the fridge, making the apartment safe for democracy.

She also keeps away Zombie Pirate Werewolves.
GO MONSTER GO!!!

What a good monster.

Just a clarification re #1 - Deborah is all done going through the list of t-shirt requests? I missed the blog post saying the spreadsheet was all done.

I haven't yet received my confirmation email. I'm on original post comment page #3, about seven down.
How odd. She says she's getting to you now.
Your ability to keep up with hundreds of comments is, I feel, prima facie evidence that you are some manner of super human being.
KNEEL BEFORE ZOD.
I am in awe of how much you accomplish on a daily basis, Seanan.

New with me: My most awesome (and likely to blow up the world) senior class graduated over the weekend!!! There was much rejoicing, and yearbook signing, and a few promises to build me rocket ships. Also, I kicked my training partner in the xiphoid process at my last karate class. How sweet is that?
Woo!

Very sweet.
!! I am here! I didn't get any notifications or anything, and was afk from the internet all day.
Ah, crap, I just realized I managed to skip right over the post this weekend, somehow. Boooo. Oh, well.

I am finally reading Deadline, having bought it weeks ago. I like it even more than Feed, which was itself awesome, and you are mighty.

With regard to your ever-impressive thing-accomplishing abilities, quick question: do you think of yourself as a multitasker, a focus-shifter, both, or neither?
I tend to think of myself as a multitasker with OCD.

Packing for Origins, which we head to tomorrow. We come back Sunday, then head out to help run Contata on Thursday (and likely meet with our lovely con chair earlier in the week to do whatever last minute things need doing), and then, the week after that, we do DexCon.

After that, we have a break before Confluence, not usually on our circuit, but head of filk offered us a concert slot, so...

The scary thing is not that we're also doing a friend's son's bar mitzvah and WorldCon, and a weekend long larp some time after all that, but that mneme notes that, technically, we could do GenCon. We shouldn't. But, there's no con in that slot.

Oh, and it turns out that hosting an 18 person housefilk forces a certain amount of housecleaning.
Well, yes. If I didn't host people from time to time, I think the carpets would never be clean again.
I spent the weekend up in Palo Alto vising my dad's 95 year old aunt. I wanted to get up to Borderlands on Saturday to your book signing but was unable to. However! While I was visiting Berkly, I managed to convince my cousin to buy Feed from a bookstore there.

Also I saw naked bikers!
Yay!
You got a fantastic review at the webcomic Schlock Mercenary. Just in case no one else has pointed it out yet. :)
Several dozen people have pointed it out. :) Alas, I cannot link instantly.
My sturdy little car now has 100% more front passenger window, and 99.9% less shattered safety glass distributed hither and yon throughout his cabin. (Guess what I was doing instead of partying with y'all?)

I am equal parts delighted and in screaming terror of seeing my parents on Saturday.
Best of luck!
Putting it here just because this is the most recent general comment thread: FoxTrot is now preparing for the zombie apocalypse! I can see Jason as an Irwin-in-training.
Hee win.
