When will you Rise? Seanan at Borderlands Books, 6/11/11.

Now that you've had about a week to read and enjoy Deadline (and to jump in over on the spoiler thread, which is rocking and rolling like whoa), it's time for a party! Specifically, it's time for a Borderlands Books party, which are some of the best parties in the world.

Since this is a Mira Grant party, it's going to be somewhat more low-key than a Toby release. We'll have readings, signings, Q&A, and, of course, cupcakes. The festivities will begin at 5:00 PM, and continue until 8:00 PM, with cupcakes served at 6:30, to divide the evening. Which brings me to...

The first Q&A will be held from 6:00-6:30 PM, and it will be a spoiler-free session. I'll repeat that before we start. Some people still haven't read Feed, and I'd like them to have the chance to get in, say hello, grab books, get a cupcake, and run without having the ending of the book spoiled for them.

If you can't make it, remember that the bookstore does take internet and phone orders, and I'd be happy to sign and personalize anything they have on hand. You can find contact details on the bookstore website.

Hope to see you there!

I am rather hoping that the cupcakes will be properly ichorous.
Some will!
Happy to say I picked up Feed when I was in NJ on the weekend!
Yay!
Good luck with the nonspolier q&a. When talking about deadline to two friens (one who is in the middle of feed) I found it almost impossible to say anything while trying to avoid the major spoiler.
It can be done. And I want to show mercy.

Best wishes to everyone for a wonderful time!
Yay!
D's working Saturday, I'm pretty sure we won't make it. *sadness*
Oh, sad!
Yes! See you there!
Hooray!
I reviewed you: http://www.geekgirlsrule.net/?p=1289

Spoilers free review, if anyone is interested.
Awesome! Thank you!
I love the idea of dividing the night into spoiler-free and spoiler-laden sections! Clever Seanan.
Thank you. :)
My husband just downloaded a PS3 game called "Dead Nation" (zombie apocalypse, strangely immune heroes). I held my copy of Deadline that I was reading, raised my eyebrows, and said "Seanan does it better." He told me that the game looked very interesting. I said, "Seanan still does it better." He said, "Okay, okay, I'll go read the first book when I get a chance!" I said, "You do that" and went back to reading.
Heeeeeee.

What with my income being Social Security Disability, and the resulting lack of budget for books... and all these new-to-me authors who are so very, very good, and whose books I want to have on my shelves for the occasional 3am re-reading (and sometimes just to see them there, because hello, my name is Glenda and I'm a bookoholic)...

I was *extremely* happy to see that my library has Deadline on order. And I have it on hold. And I'm first in the queue! (I don't like horror. I don't like zombies, at all. I loved Feed; it's that good.)

(Ghods, I wish I could afford more books. And/or beads and wire. *huge sigh* )
I am glad your library is helping you out!

I ordered Feed, Deadline, Rosemary and Rue, A Local Habitation, and An Artificial Night on Saturday. Despite being what I had hoped might qualify as a city of decent size, the only book available in Ottawa (Ontario) was Feed, and if I had to order the others online, I might as well get the lot that way.

I wanted the Deadline purchase to qualify for first week, so I didn't buy it until after June 1st.
Thank you!

These are the times I wish I had an endless supply of money so I could get out there for this event. At any rate....my local Borders didn't have the book b/c they said there was an issue with the publisher getting the books to them, so I couldn't get it when I wanted. I finally got the book this weekend and will be reading it over the next couple of days. All I can say is keep up the excellent work and hopefully I will catch up at one of the conventions this year.
We'll miss you!

Oh, wow.

Thank you.
I am so sad - I will miss this event. My father is essentially in a situation where he needs 24/7 monitoring, and his primary care provider (my mother) needs a full weekend break. And guess which weekend she is off?

So yeah, I'd love to come to the event and so on and so forth, but family needs take priority.
We will be genuinely sorry to miss you.
Wish I could be there, if only so you could smack around the spousebeast and tell him to QUIT SPOILING DEADLINE FOR ME!!!

*sigh* This is what happens when he gets to the mail first. 'Twas a great mail day, though. Your books and a titanium spork? What more can a girl ask for?
Stick the spork IN the spousebeast.
