DEADLINE open thread. Have a party.

To celebrate the release of Deadline [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxy], here. Have an open thread to discuss the book.

You can also start a book discussion at my website forums, with less need to be concerned that I will see everything you say! In case you wanted, you know, discussion free of authorial influence. I will probably answer a great many comments. I may not answer all of them.

Well, I never had a better way to get through a night of pain that kept me awake than to read Deadline. Especially for the present at the end.

George 2 will work just fine for me, thanks.

I was a little surprised at the "revelation" of George and Shaun, but I kept on thinking in Feed that it was too obvious. But it makes sense either way.

One of my biggest peeves about the world was that dogs were amplification risks. I'm glad dogs made a big comeback in Deadline. :D

I am halfway thinking if you could become immune by being near a resv. condition being... ...mid-size/larger dogs* would TOTALLY be the way to go (ignoring, of course, the amount of animals that would have to be gone through to get a workable one). Long-term close contact.

*large enough to work, small enough to not have the short lifespans of the huge breeds

Part of the issue is fluid transfer. You'd have to lick the dog a lot.

Though... ...lick my dog or die? Hrm... people do a lot of weird crap. My cousin loves dog kisses as it is. .cringe.
... wouldn't work if they just licked you a lot, eh?
